Thread: Greetings! A Swedish aspiring writer, at your service.

I am 28 years old and male, currently trying to fight my way out of a two year writer's block. Mostly interested in writing heroic fantasy, though I try not to restrict myself to genres too much. My strongest point as an author is characters, and my weakest is descriptions. I consider myself fairly talanted and moderately skilled, though I lack willpower and tenacity. I have been diagnosed with a mild case of Asperger Syndrome, but I manage okay. I hate bittersweet endings almost as much as I hate sad endings, believe those who kill their characters for no good reason deserve to be beaten by men with sticks, and generally reject the idea that the writing art can be codiefied by rules. I practice swordsmanship when I'm not surfing the web or trying to write, enjoy drinking rosé wine on a daily basis, and I consider myself something of a romantic. I also like cats.

Not sure how much I will hang around these parts, as I sometimes won't take to new forums quickly, but I do hope to meet some like-minded people around here.

Hello, Anders! Nice to meet you. I think you will find some like-minded people here and maybe some chisels to help with the writer's block. Come on in and make yourself comfortable.

I've had several great friends with Aspergers before. Also, as a psych major, I've studied it before.

I do run into others with this affliction on various forums I visit. Like I said, my case is relatively mild, though not so much as to not make my life harder then it needs to be. Fortunately I lack most of the symptoms that inhibit social interaction and communication - I make friends easily, understand jokes, etc. On the other hand I'm extremely bound by routines and have trouble motivating myself to do new things. Currently seeing a councelor about that.
