Another newbie joins the team.

I say team because I really hope to gain a lot of insight and critique from anyone willing to hand it out. Hi! My name is Mel. I have just started this amazing adventure called writing. I'm a non-fiction lover. I need some help when it comes to reading fiction and I do not know why. Maybe someone can challenge me in that arena?

I'm currently writing short articles online for examiner and lezzbook. I want to expand upon my abilities as a writer so that I feel comfortable with my work and assured that I'm putting out my best stuff. I haven't taken a writing course since 2002 so my big concern is my comma placement and overuse of semicolons. I go crazy with the semicolons! I need to review the correct formatting for online writing. I also need to be more descriptive for a mainstream audience to keep them interested in what I'm presenting but also not so descriptive that I lose the audience. I started by writing about products...more like copyright. Then I moved on to subjects with more depth for me. For my next move I want to start writing about politics and social responsibility. I will post some samples soon.

Lastly, I'm GLAD to be here. It is good to converse with like-minded individuals that can shed some light from a different direction. Much appreciated in advance!
