    Post Script Girl In Tennessee

Hi everyone! Thought I'd pop in and introduce myself.

I'm a Registered Nurse. Hospice. All of my patients have 6 months or less to live, for various reasons, and I visit them in their homes every week. Try to keep their pain at bay and provide emotional support. Stuff like that. Lots of stories ideas there!

I'm 56 and the mother of 2 children, who I adopted at birth, that were born by two different women - 19 hours apart - in June of 2005. Now there's another wild story!! They just started Kindergarten 2 weeks ago and I'm enjoying the hell out of seeing life through their young eyes.

My passion is screenwriting. I've got a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Screenwriting from UCLA. In my spare time, which isn't much, I'm either working on a screenplay or analyzing someone else's screenplay as a Script Reader. I spend the school year in Tennessee because it's close to my extended family, and because my children attend a 'killer' Magnet school there. But, the summers I spend in West Hollywood going to screenwriting workshops, conferences and networking with actors, producers and writers. You can't have enough friends in the 'Industry' if you write screenplays.

I also enjoy writing short fiction pieces, meeting other writers, and reading their work. Hence, the reason I joined this forum.

I'm looking forward to interacting with everyone here.

Hi Script Girrl, and welcome to WF. Hope you find something here that takes your interest and is of use to you. Happy writing.
The sand of the desert is sodden red, -
Red with the wreck of a square that broke; -
The Gatling's jammed and the colonel dead,
And the regiment blind with dust and smoke.
The river of death has brimmed his banks,
And England's far, and Honour a name,
But the voice of schoolboy rallies the ranks,
"Play up! play up! and play the game!"

Hi there. Welcome to the forums.
“The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.” ~ James Allen
