Thread: New kinda?

Hello all I am 21 years old and married. I have no college diplomas in writing or art under my belt. I am a certified nursing assistant at a nursing home. I had always dreamed of being a published fantasy writer but whenever I would start on a topic I would never be able to finish it. I suffered from "writer's block" for the past three years and thought I would never write again. My husband finally told me to realize my dream and so I found this site to try and catch some inspiration and start writing again. When I was younger I had a few poems published in a compilation book. However, I did not have the resources to get the book itself. I don't even remember what the name of it was. So now I start my road to fantasy writing. I hope to get out of this slump and get something out there. I look forward to reading the different works on here. Laterz to my fellow writers.

Welcome, you've landed at the right place. I personally find the habit of just showing up vital to getting something on the page. For me its early in the morning and late at night, for others it could be something different. I find posting on forums like this can be a great motivator, the immediacy of the interactions can give one the impression of being published---or the comfort of finding oneself in the hands of a competent editor. It could also be compared to standing on a soap box at Hype Park corner or walking up Oxford St., in rush hour, wearing a sandwich board with an embarrassing message while everyone completely ignores you.

Thank you to all of you for the good luck wishes and the welcomes. I am hoping to post my first rough draft of my prologue soon. I'm still rattling the cage a bit as it were, but it should be ready soon.
