Thread: Howdy-do

I've been around the writing block, having sold my first stuff in the late 70s. I freelanced off and on for the next three decades, writing articles and humourous essays, mostly for newspapers and magazines.

Although I write very little fiction, fantasy is my favourite genre for reading. Looking forward to some interesting conversations.

Welcome Howdy-do, I got started yesterday. I'm also looking forward to some interesting chats. Tech central is a good place to report "issues". It seems we get made whole with 10 posts although credit toward the 10 are not awarded in every forum of for every post. If I find out who makes the rules I'll let you know so we can "suck up" together. I've already received a warm welcome, hope you do too. I'm unpublished. I've written a couple of screenplays, a short story and I'm presently working on my OPUS. My chosen genre is "fantasy espionage", if I ever grow up, I want to be considered John le Carre's and Kurt Vonnegut's love child.

Welcome eraser. The best way to use those first posts is in offering comments on the creative boards. People are then more likely to comment when you post your own work.

@Jack Strange: The rules are easy enough to find, there's a tab on the main toolbar. Tech central is for posting about technical issues, not asking general questions. The Writers' Lounge is a better place for that.

eraser - Welcome. My own writing experience is also mostly non-fiction - newspaper, magazine, radio, and such. I'm officially retired now but get called back several times a year for special projects or reports on events like hurricanes. This is a good place for any kind of writer to be.
