    Aloha again

I joined this forum and waved "aloha" last November, but haven't been very active until recently; life has a way of hindering art. I'm back in with both feet now, and look forward to interacting with the site members, helping aspiring writers, and gathering constructive advice on my own work.

Earlier this week I posted a short story draft (warning: 6400 words and a few strong language eruptions) on the "Fiction" forum; I've polished it and submitted it for publication consideration since then, but it's 98% consistent with the final draft. It's titled "O'Reilly's Sacrifice;" if you're interested, it's about a 2004 confrontation between a sportswriter and an over-the-edge Boston Red Sox fan who attempts to end the “Curse of the Bambino,” the inexplicable run of bad luck that plagued the team following the 1919 sale of rising star Babe Ruth to the rival Yankees.

I hope to post and publish furiously from this point forward. Aloha again, all.

    Regards
    Steve

    Hello Steve. Welcome back.
“The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.” ~ James Allen

    Welcome back, Steve.
The sand of the desert is sodden red, -
Red with the wreck of a square that broke; -
The Gatling's jammed and the colonel dead,
And the regiment blind with dust and smoke.
The river of death has brimmed his banks,
And England's far, and Honour a name,
But the voice of schoolboy rallies the ranks,
"Play up! play up! and play the game!"
