Obviously, I'm new here. I'm fresh out of high school, I'll be heading off to college in January, and I intend on making a career out of novelism. I've been writing since I could grasp a writing utensil. I'm currently working on three stories; one that can't be placed into a specific genre, but I've been working on since middle school. This particular story, Ex Tenebris Lux, is an epic, and has come very far; from its unoriginal origins with generally nothing good about it to an adrenaline-pumping original tale of finding faith and hope in a world that lacks both. The other two stories I haven't worked on much. One is a Tolkein-esque high fantasy that breaks away from most fantasy clichés. The other is a science fiction. Both of which are untitled and rather primitive in their current states, although the fantasy further along than the sci-fi. The reasons I don't work on them that often are 1) Ex Tenebris Lux demands most of my attention, and 2) before I start a story, I need to flesh out backstory and lore for the setting alone, requiring migrane-inducing amounts research.
As for my idosyncracies, I listen to seventy bands, all of which are some form of Christian rock (mainly metal). My top five bands are Red, Demon Hunter, For Today, Sleeping Giant, and Becoming the Archetype. I play bass guitar at church. And, if you can't tell already, I like to use colorful adjectives, and write fairly long posts online. My only addictions in life are Christ, listening to music, Star Wars, Blizzard and Bioware products, sweet tea, Mountain Dew, and, of course, my own works.
