Thread: Hello everyone! New unmotivated writer here!

Hey folks --
I'm new to the forums here and am hoping to finally put aside my many excuses for not writing. I'm looking for inspiration and collaboration opportunities with other people to gain some actual experience and meet some cool, creative people.

I'm a 38-year-old living in Minneapolis. I work as a consultant/developer for a large global consulting firm, which I've been employed now for almost 10 years. I earned my B.A. in writing approximately four years ago, but have either lacked the motivation and confidence to proceed with writing, or have been sidetracked by other hobbies.

I'm also a musician of 20 or so years, which is the one creative outlet that seems to come easy to me. Although I don't practice nearly as much as I should, the music seems to just flow from my fingers pretty easily. Perhaps it's as simple as having done it for so long. Something I DON'T feel about writing despite having been interested in it most of my life.

I'm hoping to finally get the lead out and actually do something, and gain some inspiration from the folks around here in the process--assuming these forums are as active as I think they are.

You're the second procrastinator I've seen today! I think we need a Procrastinator's Anonymous group...so we can socialize, talk about all kind of wonderful things, and totally put off writing.

Nice to have you aboard! Perhaps we can find you some motivation.

Life always has distractions that can pull you from writing. If it's truly something you want to do, don't hestiate to join in here while moving forward with your writing.
