...well didn't I just go a bit chaplinesque in the title...
Well, ahem, good evening everyone! I am an 18-year-old girl from Finland, the Northern part of the world. I enjoy doing and going to the theatre, reading and producing prose and poetry and listening to music. I have a passion for politics, philosophy and especially history and certain historical figures. I am a great fan of the English, French, Russian and German language and culture. My greatest idols and/or mentors are sir Charles Chaplin, Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford and Sylvester Groth.
I've been writing since I was a young girl, and I remember my first story about a witch and a princess. I dictated it and Dad typed it. I still have the printed version of it somewhere. Then I remember, when I was somewhat twelve years old, my mother gave me a small notebook with rose patterns on the cover, and told me to write poems if and when I feel or think about something special. Knowing that she wrote poems too, I followed the advice.
And here I am. Writing poems every week of the year, producing text whenever I have the possibility to, beginning to see the writing style that is forming to be typical only of me, and proceeding with my novel. I never before have actually believed I could ever write anything longer than maybe three sheets. It all changed after finishing a 57-page story for my friend last December; I began to feel a bit more optimistic about perhaps writing a novel one day. I created the characters for it later last year and constructed most of the plot this spring. In June, I began writing it. I am feeling very optimistic about this project and I hope I will finish it - no, I won't hope for it. I WILL do it.
I am here to read about and share experiences. This seemed such a great and vast forum I felt it could give me a lot as a writer! So I signed up. Now, I'm off to browse the forums!
Cheerio!
