Hi!
I'm new to this writing forum. I checked out some of your posts and so far have a good feeling about this site.
As for myself, I love to write - anything! Letters, essays, poems, stories, any form of creative writing, but lately I find myself focusing more on poetry. I've been published before but not for poetry. I wrote a non-fiction article that got published in a trade journal (I'm a pharmacist by profession and the article I wrote was a scientific type of paper). But now I'm looking to publish the best poems I've written over the years. My goal is to complete at least 50 exceptional poems before looking for a publisher, and I'm up to number 26. I've got a long way to go because I work slowly, producing on average only about 1 or 2 good poems per month (I write more than that but I'm only counting my exceptional efforts).
The book I'm putting together is actually a combination of poems and essays, so when I said I'm up to 26, I'm including 5 essays.
Why am I here? I joined this site probably for the same reasons other people have - for mutual feedback, encouragement, and hopefully inspiration. I participated in an online poetry group many years ago and learned invaluable lessons from it. I'm hoping this site will do the same for me.
That's it for now. I look foward to future interactions with you guy. Happy Holidays!
Rex
