Sick of people stealing my interest!
So, my week has just gotten more complicated.
A couple of months ago, I'd say mid-April, I received a 'promotion'. What that entailed at the time was basically my boss saying verbally to me and the rest of the office, "You are lead of your area" and personally to me "I have put in for your raise and you will receive backpay to the date I put in for it.
I have been fighting for about a month know saying, Hello! Where the hell is my raise! Last week I sent a pretty pissed off email to my boss, and she finally told me that somone further along the line hadn't done their paperwork, so the raise didn't go through until May 26th, therefore I would get my raise next paycheck, but the backpay would only be until May 26th. Immediately I told her that this was unacceptable, that I have been performing as a lead since at least April, and that I felt they should backpay me from the date she supposidly turned in the paperwork.
She said that made sense to her (like this was some amazing concept I came up with) and said she would pass it on and that she is 'fighting for me'. (Of course, the whole time I wanna say, "YOU'RE FIGHTING? I'm the one working ten hour days b*tch!!")
Well, finally, after a month and a half, I finally saw my raise in my paycheck today.
HOWEVER, when subtracting my new income from my old, there is only a $214.00 difference. Now, I may just be really bad at math, but that is about the increase I expected to see from my raise alone....there just doesn't appear to be any backpay.
I am so SICK of the company I work for. They bend over backwards to keep worthless employees because they don't want to train new ones, give them raises to 'pacify' them (yes, that word is right from my supervisor's mouth), and then fuck with the people who bust their ass all day.
I mean really, I want my money with the INTEREST they are making off of it while not giving it to me. Is it really fair that they get to keep the interest? REALLY??
Thanks for letting me vent...*pant, pant*

I've been victim to that back pay bullshit too. Same thing happened. I actually got two raises with back pay supposedly building up the whole time. When I quit I told them that they owed it to me and I would raise a stink if I didn't get it, and about a month later a got the check, which was actually a nice little chunk to get all at once.
They'll do anything they can to keep from paying it. You really have to bust ass.

Yeh, I have been a softy for too long. I know they keep putting it off so I will just majicly forget...I'll go up to the contract manager if I have to (I'm a contractor for the government). And if I quit, because you better believe I'm looking after this BS, I will also raise a stink.
I just have to stay pissed or I'll be too nice .

Hmm. So, Charlie. You rant and rave and demand your rights, you work out daily, and based on what I've seen from this post and a few others you're an exuberant character.
Are there more girls like you down South?
If so, I'm moving down to Texas.
