37,762 words!

It's coming along. It has a life of it's own!
I'm almost halfway done, and I think it will end up a good 80 to 90,000 words. I can't believe how fast it's going!

Good week! I wrote twenty five pages tonight alone.

Hope everyone's week is going well.

TWENTY FIVE PAGES!

That's immense! Well done, I can see it's coming along well.

Good luck for the rest of them,

Tom.

Thanks! I just keep telling myself "Writers block isn't real. I don't believe in it" and when I have my bad days I just write, something, anything, to keep moving forward with the story, then go back on my good days and edit it better. I love this so much! I wish I hadn't waited ten years or so to get back into writing again.

That would be twenty-five ordinary novel pages, yes? Not twenty-five A4. I always, for some reason, write the first draft in A4. I usually get around three to four-hundred pages (about 1000 to 1200 ordinary novel pages) done before condensing to about nine-hundred for the finished novel.

Would someone be so kind as to explain to me what A4 is?

There are many different types of page size. Have you ever seen a large, lined notepad that college or high-school kids use? That's generally A4. The size measurements are as followed:

Width - 21cm
Height - 30 cm

It was 25 pages in microsoft works, single, not double spaced. I realize when you submit things for publishing and to agents and all that its supposed to be double spaced and everything but I don't like doing that while I'm writing. Soo..I'm still a little confused about the a4 thing?

If it's Microsoft Works, I'm going for a guess that it is A4.

No, it wouldn't be. There's no possible way, short of writing for 12 hours straight, that you could write 25 A4 pages in one night.

Sam.

Yes there is. I've done it before a few times. I usually pass out afterwards and have the best nights sleep ever, but it is doable.

Page, believe me, I've tried, with the added stimulation of coffee, and the most A4 pages I've ever written in one sitting was fifteen. That was from 7 PM to 3 AM. It was one of those evenings were everything was flowing. And I type at a hundred words per minute.

Sam.

You must be using a really small font. I type no where near that fast. But when I do go for that amount of writing in one sitting, it's usually on a day when I have nothing else to do so I start on the morning. It's tiring, but it's great fun if you're in the right mood ^.^

Most people use a standard size 12 font. I use Trump Medieval at size 10, so yeah, you're right. Never thought about it that way.

^.^ Next time you go on a writing binge, when you're done put it in Times New Roman size 12 just to see how much you've done by that standard. The length will probably surprise you.

I used to work in Verdana size 6.5 when I submitting to fanfiction. I got one hell of a shock when I put some of it in standard manuscript format. Sudenly 5 pages became 17.
