Not the government. It's anyone you know? It's weird. Luckily I'm not the only one I know like that. I guess you can say I am paranoid. I don't like people knowing about me
I guess. I mean, what business is it of theirs? Most people don't care. Like... using discount cards at supermarkets. Doesn't it bother you that the store tracks what you buy and can send you ads based on what you buy? It's kind of the same thing.

MM sorry to hear you've been having a rough time of it.

It kinda sounds like you're letting these people walk all over you. First of all, you need to make it clear that its not acceptable for him to talk to you that way even if hes only kidding. Reiterate the damaging effect it has on your relationship with him and inform him that it makes him look bad.

Second, whats the deal with your boyfriend? If he's writing off everything you say then it doesn't sound very healthy. I don't know all the details about your memory issues but have you tried writing things down and carrying around this pad of paper? It might help jog your memory and exercise linear thought processes. Just an idea. Regardless, he should not make you feel like your opinion does not matter.

Third, people who say you "make stuff up" are probably people you should be around. Communication is key in these kinds of disagreements but if you notice a pattern in people continually disregarding you then you need to stand up for yourself. Work on areas you know to be your own weaknesses (we ALL have them) but don't allow others to make you feel bad about them. If you are doing your best, then additional maligning commentary is only hurtful and counterproductive.

I hope things improve

I didn't know my boyfriend was doing that until that incident today. It totally shocked me. When he said "you make stuff up" i went silent for like 2 minutes because i was so shocked..
I thought he trusted and believed me but I guess not.
I don't know how far it goes either. Does he not believe me about EVERYTHING or just the stuff he thinks sound a little off?

Sometimes I only post a poem every month. My poems aren't epic either. I can't force it. I've heard people say the same thing--I wish only writers were here--well they have ignore lists and no one is forcing them to hang on this site. If I were petty and had more time and inclination, I'd go look up their posts and see just how much "writing" they put out. Some of the people that give me crap about writing poetry and tell me to write "real writing" aren't folks I hold in high regard.

Plus, a good portion of the forums is social--and there aren't any rules about amount of writing vs socializing.

I know I don't understand exactly how you feel. I do hope you feel better. Sometimes getting some rest will help.

Thoughts and prayers,

Please go read some of my poetry. Honestly, it's rather terrible. I started writing because my boyfriend, who is a very talented writer wrote me some poems, and I wanted to return the favour. I don't write a lot, especially not lately (writing fifteen exams in two weeks kind of kills your flow of creative), but when I do, I really enjoy doing so. And don't worry, you're not wasting anyones time! You're not forcing anyone to read your writing, they do so because they want to. And because sometimes critiquing others makes us learn new things about our own writing. Keep your head up, and stay strong. Everything works out in the end!

I wouldn't get a credit card. Better to sleep on the floor for a month in the new apartment that to fall into that trap. Warren Buffett says that credit cards should be completely avoided, and he makes money off of them.

Why do you not have a license yet?

You must have some talent or you wouldn't be wanting to write.
Just so obviously, blatantly, ridiculously not true. LOTS of people want to do things or be things they have no knack for.

And the case just might be that writing isn't your think Modest. There was a period when everybody went through a "I wanna be a rock star" thing before they settled on something else. (I knew a girl in Seattle what was embarrassing every band in town trying to be a singer. She ended up hand-painting shirts, started to canvasses, had a show a couple of years ago. She even sent me an invitation but I didn't go because she's a loser. JUST KIDDING. I didn't go because I was like 4000 miles away)

Here's a thing about writing, though. You can get the itch a long time before you have anything to say or the chops to say it. There are prodigies in music, but not literature.

You're pretty young to be writing yourself off. Keep on writing for now, or kick it and wait and see if it kicks back in sometime.

Ditch your boyfriend. He's obvious not a purebread dog anyway and eats out of garbage cans.

Here's a tip on jobs. The real job market is "hidden". They don't advertise. The best gigs are ones you figure out and go sell somebody on paying you for. Look around and see if there is anything you can do to make somebody more money or prestige.

Meanwhile, it's summer! You're young! You're interacting with the world!

Best of luck, pooch

That is so wrong- you don't even know how wrong that was. But I still can't help but laugh.. I'm going to h*ll for sure.

But since I have nothing to talk about...
Sometimes if you don't have anything to talk about, it's just better not to. Some people seem to be interested in hearing you complain, but I'm not sure why. I suppose they see it as an opportunity to offer advice, to what end I don't know, because there's no evidence that you've taken any of it previously.
