A Wedding, A Private Viewing, and A new Business

I have had a interesting time the last couple of weeks and still more to come. One of the local carvers who sells some of his work at my gallery met an old girlfriend in front of my shop. Four months go by and they asked permission if they could marry in my gallery. Of course I said yes, and the small ceremony was romantic in all aspects. They had what they called a Rose Ceremony, exchanging roses after the vows. I was honoured to be witness to it and to hold it in my shop. The more positive energy in my shop the better I feel.

On the last evening before Winter Solstice begins I am hosting a special private gathering of artists. Along with one of my favorite artist's works, as well as others, there will be a mellow celtic band playing.
It was funny because it wasn't myself who decided on this gathering of artists and hopefully buyers but the band itself. They had played in here once before, loving the acoustic sounds that bounce off my blown glass and hardwood floors. So they had asked if they could do a more personal get together with people I should meet and know on a continual level of the art world.
As soon as I readily agreed, the one "favorite" artist that will be displaying his works that night, demanded that I take all my other artists work down. He will not share with others that night, he said. That threw me for a loop, because this was not his private viewing but a host of other things as well. I didn't say anything to him but waited to talk to the band about his demand. The band members said no he has no right to demand this of me. This night was for me as well, and none of them wanted me to be put out or stressed in any way. We decided that the artist would get one wall in the back to work with, however he sees fit.
After I was thinking about the whole thing and had to shake my head. Some egos amaze me, artsist having the biggest out there I am finding as time goes by. I know we all have them, and I do beleive in order for us to move forward in an individual manner we need to carry it, self preservation and all, but still. I guess my signature says it all to me.

And lastly, I am opening up a chocolate shop with a friend. This will be exciting for me. I'm just now doing the research on all aspects of it, down to the import duties, wooo hooo. I know there were some threads started here on chocolate, so I am now going to take a browse at what kind of chocolate people like. I hope to revive it as well and hope more people will post their favorite chocolate.

Well, I guess that's it for me. Sorry if I rambled on. I know this is more than how was your week. I just felt like sharing the things that are happening in my life at the moment.

wow! You are a going concern friend. That sounds like a sure winner. Blown glass and music go together so beautifully - hey! It snowed here last night! I can't believe it!

I love the snow don't you. We are getting it now. Somehow I can manage the cold if snow accompanies it.
I am excited about the things happening in my life. It's funny because my other friend always says that about me, I'm a going concern But I figure I may as well enjoy everything in life's wake even with those waves because I never know what life will throw at me tomorrow.

Take care friend. Hey you know I was just thinking. The Grey Cup Parade should be today or tomorrow?

Sounds like a very good week.

By the way, do you know anything about tea-infused chocolate? I've never seen/eaten it, but I hear it's gaining popularity in gourmet shops in France, New York City, and some areas of Canada. It intrigues me.
    Ruthless comments encouraged!

Hi Ilan, I have heard about this chocolate, don't know anything about it though. That is on my research to-do list. If I manage to get a hold of some before you, I'll let you know how it tastes.
