    China!!!

So, in all likelihood, I'm going to be going to Xi'an University in Xi'an China for a couple weeks in May for an overseas study program. It's all a matter of whittling down mom to agree to it, even grudgingly. She doesn't like China because they're Communist, lol. I'm pretty excited though!

At the end of the program, we get to spend two days in Beijing seeing the famous tourist spots and all, stay at a five-star hotel, the whole package.

    Super-awesome!!!

When I was young, I got to visit Japan for three weeks. I had enough adventures to last a lifetime. Enjoy!

Wow, would that ever be something! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get to go, Kang. And if you do, we want pics!

Of course, what kind of tourist would I be if I didn't have a camera and gawk stupidly at the buildings around me?

Excellent. And by the way, I'm seriously jealous.

You'd better nip down to the FBI and Homeland Security and register, it'll save them the trouble of opening a file on you... A young British couple going to the States for a party-time holiday tweeted "We're going to destroy the United States", such is the paranoia that they were banned from entering the country! Just think what might have happened if they had also said that they were "Going to paint the town red."

lol. Well, the FBI and Homeland Security don't have much of a threat from me. Unless I somehow manage to break the Great Wall of China. Which is a possibility, my brother cut himself on a pastry brush, lol.

Have a good trip, Kang, but do be careful. Take precautions about where you point that camera. Never, ever, disobey a 'no pictures' sign. Do not take pictures of locals. Do not get involved in conversations with locals. Do not discuss politics with anyone, even inside your group and especially not in your hotel room. When you are outside your hotel stay with your group. Do not leave your hotel at night unless there is an activity planned by the trip organisers. Stay with the programme put together by the organisers and pay attention to what they tell you.

By the end of this century the world's two economic super powers will be China and India. Take advantage of every opportunity you have to visit any country in the East.

I hardly ever discuss politics. Not that I don't know enough about communism, etc. But good advice, Garza.

Why not locals though? I mean, if I'm with my group and we are at a restaurant or say The Great Wall?

I'm not going to have my money in my pockets, either. I wouldn't have it any other way in a place I'm not familiar with.

Don't all Chinese look the same? How would you be able to pick the difference between a peasant and a Communist spy?

I think the interrogation cell might be a clue. I'm a student though, I don't think I'd be any good at espionage, unless it's for my college. "Yes, KangTheMad, what kind of chalk are the Chinese using?"

Note to self: DO NOT MAKE SPY JOKES

Okay, skip the pictures, man. I'll don't want to be responsible for you possibly doing jail time. A work about your trip though would be welcome. *hint*
