    Rome wasn't built ...

Went for an MRI scan early in the week of the area behind the eye. The consultant wants to see if the mass that was pushing on my optic nerve is shrinking, I see him Friday. I had a nasty bug last weekend that seems to have wakened up some of the Wegener's symptoms, but I think it may be calming down a bit, the new drug I am on takes a while to kick in so I may have to increase my steroids for a while before I can decrease them, we shall see what the man says on Friday.
Someone who bought my book came back for two copies to give as presents and I have had a couple of comments posted on Lulu. They are doubly gratifying because Greg is the publisher of 'Armchair advice' and Andy works for Littlebrown the publishers, they are both professional, literate people, I am still rated about six thousand six hundred and sixty something on Lulu's list, but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Hey, Olly, wishing you the best for your MRI results.

Somehow I completely missed that your book was out. I knew you were working on one but when did this go up for sale on Lulu? All of a sudden there are a lot of published books by my friends here on WF. It's a great feeling! And my reading list is growing. I'm especially interested as this short fiction.

    c'mon payday!

It seems both you and I are in the hands of the medicine men this week. I had a further CT of the lump in my lung on Tuesday and will be discussing the result with the local quack on Friday. With any luck, it’ll be quiescent.

I should find out how this Lulu stuff works.

Olly best of luck with the MRI. Don't get too 'roided up, you don't want to look like one of those vein-popping muscle-busting jockstraps on the cover of those muscle mags hmmm? Now let's work on getting rid of those three sixes on Lulu. I'll give it a go even though I don't think I'll be riding a train for a while.
    First this one story...

It’s your turn for good news now, mate. I got mine earlier today – no metastasis from the thyroid to the lump in my lung – it was a harmless left-over from childhood flu. Keep us informed, won't you?

My turn Ox, saw the consultant today, he rekons it is only that I am going through a difficult patch between medications, coming off one and going onto the other, doses are increasing and symptoms should clear up shortly. Mind you ha sent me for a chest x-ray to be sure, put me on septrin to give me a bit of extra protection and x-rayed my foot which is hurting a bit to make sure the osteoporosis hadn't resulted in a fracture, it hadn't.

So it's good news all around, and a book to boot! Such a relief! I'm very happy for both of you.
