    Fully taken up

Monday and Tuesday we went to Bath as my daughter was performing in the choir at a carol service in Bath Abbey on the Monday evening. Wednesday I was supposed to have been going to St Thomas' for my last infusion to suppress my immune system, but i must have eaten something while I was away as I had the worst stomach I have had for years. Luckily it didn't last and I was able to go and have my infusion on the Thursday, however, it is important to get blood tests done before hand to be sure my body is coping with the previous one as it should. it must have been a busy day in the lab as the results took a bit over three hours to come back. As it is a cytotoxic drug with special regulations around it it can't be ordered from pharmacy until they are sure it will be used, they must have been busy as well, I arrived at the hospital and gave blood at 12.30 and escaped from them at 5.30, so with travelling time that was Thursday. Friday I rushed around and did most of the things I had missed doing all week, Saturday we went out and got the Christmas tree and a new mattress for the bed in the spare room and today we visited the inlaws. I am looking forward to a bit of time to myself soon.
On the other hand my vision in my right eye is constantly improving, though it is still not good, 6/18 now, which means that I can see at 6 meters what someone with good vision will see at 18. A few weeks ago I couldn't make out the top letter on the chart, now I can see some of the two lines under that. The downside is that it makes my double vision much more annoying, when I couldn't see with one eye I could simply ignore the blurred image, now I shut it a lot, but I am hoping for improvement there as well.
I am getting very little writing done I am afraid, reading and writing are a considerable effort, by the time I have done something towards a piece for the newsletter I usually don't feel like much more, never mind, I am building up a notebook full of ideas ready for the off as soon as things improve.

Being December, my focus has turned toward family and the holidays too. Feeling a lot like a mother, not so much a writer. Very good news about your vision improvements. Let's hope we both get to do some writing soon.

Hoping your eye issues continue to improve over the holidays Mr. Buckle.
Let's see if my above post is deleted without explanation. Wouldn't be the first time.

Good to hear your sight is improving Olly. I look forward to reading those ideas put into words, when you are able to do some writing. It seems that writing takes a back seat for all of us this time of year.

Thank you Gumby, I was sat on a bus today and realised I could read the main signs over the shops on the other side of the road, things like 'Pharmacy', with my 'bad' eye. That may not seem brilliant, but it really cheered me up, they were nothing but a blur a few weeks ago and at first I would have had trouble telling shops from houses.

    Love your baby Father Christmas.

Writing comes second, health first. That's great news, glad to know your eyesight is improving.
This cheered me up, I'm so happy for you.
