    Trying

The week started with my website succumbing to a hack attack. I did what I had to do, got it all cleaned up, and was promptly reinfested. Traced down the source, found the hole, can't plug it. My webhost doesn't update often enough to facilitate my wordpress applications. I'm gonna have to switch hosts (or forget about the whole thing and just use freespace) and ditch seven years worth of patient subscription building.
Then my stepdaughter sent my wife a note that her daughter had been molested by her former father-in-law. He's been picked up and is in jail awaiting sentencing (which is tomorrow), but that poor child has been through so much crap already.
Then my health insurance company (state-provided) tried to drop me because they had heard that SSI gave me a lump sum that was greater than their qualifying level (patently untrue). I had to go to the bank and get paper copies of my statements. That was so stressful of a journey that I inhaled the contents of my portable oxygen tank before I even left the facility, and didn't even notice that there was no airflow coming in.
That caused a gigantic migraine that took me a day and a half to cure.
My wife has started a new job, and is getting stressed about some of the people on the phones (she works in a different department of the company I used to work for). I'm sure that the situation with our grand-daughter is making it all worse. I know it is for me. I never liked the guy anyway. If we were still in New York, he'd be dead, after an extended torture session. Once he's convicted, I'm going to out him like mad.

Absolutely. I get it. When Mum died I thought, crap, but also- this is meant to happen. People are meant to die.
Some things are not meant to happen to people. The poor girl.

My week was ok - until I saw your avatar, which gives me the willies!

Hope things are better next week!

It sure sounds like you are experiencing a "Perfect Storm". It breaks my heart to hear about your granddaughter. That sort of thing should never happen to a child and I cannot think of a punishment severe enough for the perp. Add health issues, computer issues, financial issues, and job related stress well...I think I would be headed back to bed....after I had self medicated myself.

I will keep you in my thoughts with prayers that better days come very soon.

Oh, I can... several. Nothing that would keep me out of jail, mind.

Don't worry, Moderan. That scumbag and his kind don't last long in prison.

So sorry for your baby grandaughter. Six? No words.
Hoping things smooth out on your front too. I like a rum and coke when things are difficult, or even when they are not. Calms a tattered mind.

Sometimes life just rips you to bits and all you can do is hold on and try to keep some focus. Good to see you are hanging on to that anger and saving it for a time when you can really unleash it.

Your granddaughter will over come this as will you, kids are alot more resillent than you think even under the most horrible of circumstances. with lots of love and care she will recover in time.

As for the bad guy? Once he is locked up, the other prisoners will make his life a living hell i'm sure. Chin up Moderan you can get through it and be happy again, things have a way working themselves out. It's just hell when your in the eye of the storm, but it will pass in time.

Well, the court date is today. That's going on right now. I haven't heard from anyone yet. The perp will get his just desserts no matter what happens, but the damage is done.
I like a rum and coke too, or a cuba libre, or a margarita. Or a glass of good wine or a tasty beer...but none of those things will help.
The webhost sent me a form letter. I replied to the form letter that the issue was their fault, and that form letters were part of the problem. They replied that they were looking into whatever problems I have had. The letter was signed by the same tech I've had problems with in the past. Probably the only one they employ. They apologize, like that's gonna help. Faugh!
I'm so g*dd*m tired of this hose up my nose, catching on everything as I move around, and I'm mad at my body for not working right. I can strap on a small tank and get around a little, but that's not working for me.
Everything is irritating. We're still fighting the bedbugs that the previous upstairs neighbor brought around. They've been evicted, but their "pets" have moved down here with us, and are very hardy critters.
Tomorrow we're gonna put down some stuff called diatomaceous earth that's supposed to help kill them. I hope so. I can't resist the urge to scratch forever, and scratching makes things way worse.
Fortunately, the bedbugs don't seem to have a taste for our animals. The cats and bunnies aren't scratching or acting any more irritable than normal.
On top of everything else, our fridge is acting up. The freezer goes down to just above freezing and stays right there. It makes watery ice. I've had to cook all of our frozen meats and have thrown out a couple hundred bucks worth of previously-frozen, thawed, refrozen, partially-thawed, and partially frozen carcass pieces.
It never rains but it pours. At least I have my sense of humor.

I don't do happy very well. Life in my eyes is either brutal or decent. This week is brutal.
I don't have much faith that the child will get the love and care that she needs. The "adults" in her life are dysfunctional and immature beyond their years. She was already screwed up. That's the part that really tortures me. None of them have any business breeding or raising a brood. They can't manage themselves-how then can they manage another being?
    Thanks for the thoughts though.
I'm not despondent...it helps me to write things down and put them in proper perspective.
