Thread: Worst Monday in the history of Mondays!

What a day!

I started a new job last week as a recruitment consultant. All seemed fine, although there were one or two eyebrow-raising clauses given to me in my contract. Anyways, to cut a long story very short - on Friday last week my boss decides to inform me that I may no longer receive my salary at the end of the month, even though we have a contract agreeing to my monthly salary. I told him that this concerned me greatly and that I cannot work under these kinds of circumstances, but we agreed to take the weekend to think it over and discuss things further on Monday.

Today, he barges into the office, calls all 3 employees into a meeting and proceeds to yell at us and tell me that a 2 year old could do a better job than me and that I am stupid and unintelligent. He called me a liar and told me that I am wasting his time because, in the whole week that I have been there, I have not made a sale. He provided us with no training and refused to listen to me when I tried to discuss that with him.

Needless to say, I walked out and I am going to take him to The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration. They will help all 3 of us lay a case against him for Harassment and Constructive Dismissal.

Never in my life have I been treated so badly by someone!!!

Wow, what an asshole. No excuse for treating people like that. I wouldn't look back from that place. Hoping all goes well with finding a better job.

Constructive Dismissal? I get the harassment part but this kinda threw me.

Basically it means that he made the situation unbearable and forced his employees to resign. That's how I understand it at least.

I sent him my resignation letter when I got home, and he replied telling me that the one call I made to try and find the name of a company was illegal and that I directly chose to ignore all advice and training that he provided. Hilarious, really. It's fine though, I am keeping everything he has mailed to me and taking it with me to court. He honestly thinks, that by intimidating me with utter rubbish, that I am going to go running for the hills. Even if I get nothing out of this, at least I have inconvenienced him by making him take time off work to go to court. If I could make enough noise to hopefully make other young girls think twice before accepting a job there, I will have served my purpose.

I did receive 2 calls today and have 2 interviews tomorrow, so here's to hoping for the best.

Sue them for a million dollars! >:O
