    Company

I'm not miserable (mostly), despite the arthritis and the rest of the claptrap stemming from recent health issue and dragging around fifty feet of green plastic hose through the apartment...however our formerly disgustingly healthy male rabbit has contracted a disease that makes his his head lean to one side and had him undergoing seizures for a day or so. Supposedly the culprit is a parasite that lives in most bunnies' kidneys relatively harmlessly (E. Cuniculi). We have medicine, and he seems better but still he has wry neck and looks pathetic. He sometimes hops in big circles. Very sad, but there is hope for complete recovery. The seizures are done with (his eyes were literally rolling in their sockets) and he's evidenced quite an appetite.
Our boarder is driving me up the walls (I'd go up a tree but my cord doesn't go that far). He's one of those fidgety anxiety-prone people, and none too swift in the upstairs department. So he tries too hard and screws up things, and then lapses into not trying at all because he always screws up things. Constantly push-and-pull, with whining. Very annoying. Can't entertain himself so I have to do it, or he drives the lady of the house crazy by commandeering the remote and watching "reality" tv like cop shows and stupid criminals...stuff that makes me feel stupider just by knowing it exists.
On the plus side, by staying up late every night, I have managed to pen @6000 words of the Fallen Earring novel (coming soon to a blog near you) and am working out some of the mechanics of a revival of my novella Fear and Loathing in Innsmouth, for a very possible sale. Because of my oxygen needs, I can't get out and work a regular job, and won't be able to for the foreseeable future. While I'm waiting to see if social security approves my case, I'm working on writing and attempting to license some of my instrumental music for use in film and tv.
Here's a pic of Dammit guarding my oxygen converter-the embedded link will take you to Dammit's blogpost:Name: DSCN1337.JPG

He's a busy little guy and now has a facebook page-feel free to become a fan
The boarder has a page too but I'm gonna keep that one to myself

Glad to hear you're managing some writing, Mod. Sorry to hear about Dammit (and the boarder) but I love your attitude. It's just good to have you back.

I wholeheartedly second Foxee here. It's wonderful to see you around the boards again. Dammit is beautiful, talented too if he has his own facebook page.

My dad has a cat guarding his O2 generator. Unfortunately, sometimes the Guard Cat likes to attack his air line. After all, it is snake-like, right?
So, having a sickly rabbit guarding your generator isn't so bad a thing, I think.

At least it sounds like you're making lemonade out of lemons. Good luck

Thanks all. The cats are afraid of the 02 converter, they don't like the hissing it does. One of my concerns is that they'll stop being afraid of Dammit-he beat one of them up under the curio cabinet once and has been boss bunneh since. His energy seems to be returning though.
I do as much writing as I can. My energy level is pretty low these days. Sorry I'm not around much, but I suppose it's better than not being around at all.

I wish you had a video. It's hard to wrap my brain around the image of a bunneh beating up a cat.

Bootsy's a tuxedo cat. Dammit is mostly white, with just a little black. If you close your eyes and visualize an old Warner Bros. cartoon, with the cloud, and limbs/paws appearing every now and again from within the cloud, you'll have a pretty good idea of what was happening under that curio cabinet.
We couldn't see it happen either, but we heard it. ThumpthumpTHUMPthumpthump was the sound of Dammit backing up a little and headbutting Bootsy, who was in the wrong spot against the outer wall. Dammit paused to catch his breath and Bootsy hightailed it (literally!) from underneath and shot into the bedroom in less time than it took Cool Papa Bell to turn out the light.
It was a riot. I laughed and laughed. Tears were streaming down my face, and poor Bootsy was inconsolable. She slunk back into the room and made immediately for the dry food bowl, where she bulked up and then disappeared for a LONG NAP with her kitteh friends (we have four still).
Dammit was so proud. He bounced around with his little chest just so much thrust forward, flapping his ears from side to side as he laughed and laughed in the way that rabbits laugh.
To tell you the truth, I was proud of him too
In a pitched battle in the open, Bootsy'd have his ass for breakfast. But he saw his opportunity, and it was instant psych! Bootsy has never messed with him again. Probably pragmatic-he's as big as the cat is, weighs about the same.

Bunnehs fighting kittehs. Your description is hilarious!

Bootsy's just lucky she's never run afoul of Nipit. Dynamite comes in small packages
