    Finally done!

This is actually related to an earlier post. We had really bad tenants in our house, they pretty much ruined it. Drawings on the walls, broken fans and the kitchen actually had so much grime on it that I could swipe it with my finger. Before putting it back on the market we had to renovate it, I think my dad was trying to teach me how to be more responsible. I was the one who had to sit there all day and make the workers work.

*One thing that I learned workers don't work. The other thing was that you have to be with them eternally just to make sure that they don't steal anything and that they do their job properly. Also they make sure that they have excuses for not doing work (missing equipment, food and brains). It was such a hectic time. Finally I am done and back home. =_=

That is such an illustration of the cultural difference between our countries, I have a friend who is from Walton on Thames, a fairly upper class area, whose mother moved recently. The new house was in a state, and when I visited her the other week she was exhausted because she and her brother had spent the entire weekend cleaning and painting in readiness for her to move in.

A couple of days after my nightmarish ghetto neighbors moved out, I saw the maintenance man changing out the locks. I also observed that they had left furniture and a TV behind. A couple of days later, I noticed that a Rent a Center place had left a note on the door. I called the Rent a Center place. Some of the furniture and TV belongs to the Rent a Center place. The couple also owes money on their rental of those items. The propietor was glad to hear from me.
They call me Spooky, Spooky Mulder. A joke to my peers and an annoyance to my superiors. Whose sister was abducated by aliens when he was a kid, and now runs around with a badge and gun yelling to anyone who is listening that the fix is in and when it hits, it'll be the crapstorm of all time.

I really do wish there was a proper system for that in Pak. But mostly its like 'lets settle this out of court' because once you are in court its immpossible to get a conviction and it causes massive amounts of pain on both sides. They paid for most of the damages so it was all good but it was the time it took thats the real pain. T_T
