    What a weekend.

Went to the first neice born after I married into the family's high school graduation on Saturday.
    --Feeling old.

Sunday just as the family fun day started the volunteer fire dept and rescue squad made an appearance then the helicopter came in.
rumor:19-20 yr old riding a bike hit by a speeding car in a residential area..
Both daughters were trying to reach the men they knew that fit this category, (the two men are also best friends)
Well it was my daughters friends boyfriend, that we had talked to the night before.
Just when the church family fun day ended they messaged my daughter that he had been released, without fracture or internal injuries.
Monday: Youngest daughter had a great softball game. The first in three games she was not injured. (She had knee surgery in January) The first she twisted herbad knee when running to first(and finally told someone when she made it home three plays later, and having been yelled at for not running fast enough.) She returned to play a couple innings later.
the second short stop and her collided when she was running to third, She was out two innings and returned to play and score again.
Mondays game was shortened by mercy rule, but mission accomplished-no injury.
Her team run ruled the other team 2 out 4 innings.

Yikes !! You can't mess around with knees. I dislocated one two years ago. Six months of physical therapy + I still have a problem with stairs.

BTW-let her know she's going to have problems twenty years from now (stock up on the knee braces now).
They call me Spooky, Spooky Mulder. A joke to my peers and an annoyance to my superiors. Whose sister was abducated by aliens when he was a kid, and now runs around with a badge and gun yelling to anyone who is listening that the fix is in and when it hits, it'll be the crapstorm of all time.

Her growth plates were not closed, so they had to do the less successful surgery, so I believe she will probably need another surgery in 1-3 yrs.
Her patella(knee cap) was falling over with every step, sometimes getting stuck.
They replaced the ligament that had been stretched(common in gymnastics and Cheerleading) but this can be stretched or torn too.
best fix was to cut a peice of bone and fuse it so the patella can't move out of position(without breaking a bone).

I can't tell her she will have problems in the future, she will stop being active, and that brings problems faster then staying active.

    Update;
Knee one; Knee cap moving again.
Knee two; starting to move also,
    knee and ankle pain too.

She is too young to be falling apart.

This is terrible. My step-sister also has problems with her knees, but no where near this severe.

I hope that her knees will heal, and I am thinking she should take it easy with the running.

    Good luck
