It's like they want me to have no life.

Ugh! School! I should NOT be this stressed when graduation is only one month away! I should be freakin' elated.

Instead, I'm buried under piles and piles of projects and assignments. This week, I had to make up all the work I missed from the week I had the flu, create slide show for my AP Art portfolio (which is quite difficult when you don't have working Power Point on your own computer) plus four new pieces for my concentration, and create a booklet analazying Joseph Campbell's heroic cycle as it applies to The Hobbit. I just got the booklet done about five minutes ago. I have no time for myself anymore.

On top of that, I just got news that my family in Iraq is in big legal trouble. Like, getting-sued-for-thousands-of-dollars-for-something-they-didn't-do-and-could-go-to-prison trouble.

So yeah, as if I need all this pointless school stuff with that happening.

Sorry for your troubles, but the school stuff isn't pointless. Keep at it.

Every school likes its students to go out with a bang, you know.

I think they just want you to be so so so freaking glad you are done that you never look back. I am sorry for your family and the dangerous problems, hoping things are not nearly as bad as they look right now. May light be shed on their innocence.

My last few months of school were the worst ever. I was school captain and had heaps of extra work to do, on top of all my studies.
I basically fell out of touch with my whole group of friends because every lunch and recess was a meeting of some sort.

It was the worst. But it all paid off. A month isn't too long to be stressed out.
Try not to worry about your family in Iraq if there is nothing you can do for them. You'll waste your energy. Focus on the things you can change.

Hang in there. You can only do what you can do.
Let's see if my above post is deleted without explanation. Wouldn't be the first time.

Second semester senior year, I had two jobs, was taking an overload on classes (18 hours) and I got engaged. Sleep ? What's that ?

    I graduated 10th of 278 students.
They call me Spooky, Spooky Mulder. A joke to my peers and an annoyance to my superiors. Whose sister was abducated by aliens when he was a kid, and now runs around with a badge and gun yelling to anyone who is listening that the fix is in and when it hits, it'll be the crapstorm of all time.

M J Preston is right, it isn't pointless. Even if you never use any of that stuff again it shows people in the future that you can apply yourself and do what's needed to get decent grades, and that makes you a good prospect in other things. Stick at it, it's worth doing and that means it's worth doing well.

Sometiems stress can seem overwhelming, I know. Please take a little time for yourself and do what works best for you...prayer, meditation, working out, dance, whatever it may be. It can sure help you deal with things that are beyond your control.

Good advice, Gumby. Because it sure doesn't get any easier.

You took the words out of my mouth, Joe.

Good luck with everything, Dream. Stick it out and it'll be over before you know it, and then real life begins...

Thanks Gumby. I really don't want to be one of those people who works works works all the time, so I'm going to take that advice. And I'll be sure to take lighter loads in college.
