The day for my radioactive therapy draws near. Two weeks to go. And only now (Good Friday, the day they hung that ragged killjoy on the cross), with a five-day public holiday upon us, and so with no one in real life to ask, do I find that for those two weeks I am to cut from my diet as much iodine as possible.
The internet is useless.
Medicine on the net is more Art than Science (it’s also like that in real life, unfortunately). According to what I’ve found by browsing, I can’t eat bread, or milk, or cheese, or eggs, or chocolate, or beans, or potato skins, or soy products, or rhubarb, or cereals, or instant coffee, or any processed food containing salt in case it’s iodised salt.
I’ll be just a shadow by the time I get to hospital.![]()
