Thread: Spring Break

Spring Break starts on Monday, what does that mean? To be honest, not much other than sleeping in and maybe working on a short story and novel. Lunch with friends perhaps. But the important thing, I'll be that much closer to graduation, just nine weeks.

Though I am 18 now. . .Perhaps I should go down to Ft. Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale or sleep...wow, that's tough. I'd pick sleep, but I think you should probably go take the trip.

Well, apparently we aren't even going down to Carbondale to do a school visit.

It means that schools are still on an antiquated agricultural schedule. Spring break was to plant seeds, summer break was to work the fields, and halloween break (done away with in the 1960's) was for the harvest. Sending kids to school at dawn, so that the kids could get home to do chores in the daylight (afternoon) is antiquated too.

The business world is 9 to 5, schools should be too. Stats prove that kids get in trouble the most from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., before parents can get home. Teens are not morning creatures and that high school is the earliest school, is absurd.
