    Not good

Well, let's qualify, not good for others, personally I am okay, so far.

My first wife was from Japan, the faces all look so familiar, and I keep wondering what has happened to people I know, luckily our two sons both live over here.

I was invited to the funeral of a friend who died of lung cancer, his boys are just at university age and friends of my daughter.

My daughter lives in halls and shares her flat with five others, one of whom has gone missing. my daughter and her boyfriend were the last to see him when he refused their offer to get a cab and took himself off.

The Ox is going into hospital for treatment.

None of it has happened directly to me and mine, but it all feels terribly close to home when it is 4.30am and I can't sleep.

Cheer up, mate. It looks like you managed an hour more than I did. I woke at 3.30 a.m., my mind kicked into gear immediately, and I began going over the all the loose ends relating to my upcoming hospitalisation. Not fun at all.

Sorry, you are right. Stuff happens all the time, yet I just walked downstairs and the woodpecker was on the bird table, the daffodils are coming out, crocus in full bloom, seeds coming up and it is Spring.
Part the trouble is that the family are in pieces and tend to bounce it back and forth off each other, it's good to get here and stop being the strong, stoic one for a small space. I think about Bubear's parents and empathise, he's a lovely, floppy, kind , generally nice bloke. Daughter is in pieces, one friend missing, two others whose father has died, I worry about her and how it will impact on her university, and all those babies on the TV look just like my two boys did when they were tiny. Still, on with the day, there is life to be lived.

Your kiddos are well, Ox is strong, and my sincerest hopes for this boy lost. If it is not pouring, some time in your garden will do you goodness. And lol on waking at three thirty or four thirty. When I hit those hours, it's because I never went to bed. I don't wake up then unless someone dumps me out of bed, or I have to pee.
