    Snow!

It's finally snowing in Washington! It's really coming down right now and it's really beautiful. It's just falling like powdered sugar, not quite swirlie like it did last year. The trees are all covered already. I'm so glad I get to see snow before I go to Iraq in three days...

Sounds beautiful, we rarely get snow here. In fact, only twice in my lifetime and it left very quickly.

I hate it when that happens. Only twice? What a shame. But I guess it's good not to have it be freezing cold all the time like it is here.

It stopped snowing, unfortunately, so I can't look forward to having no school tomorrow.

How long is your tour (I am assuming military) in Iraq?

No tour. I'm no soldier, haha. I'm Iraqi and I'm going to visit some family over there for a few weeks.

Snowed here too down in Olympia! Very pretty and the kids stayed out for hours, even into the dark of night! And did not know you were off on vacation soon. Have a wonderful time, soak it in, breathe it, and come tell us all about it when you get back!

Thanks, Eluixa. My plane leaves tomorrow at 4 pm. We're off to DC again (I was there a month ago, was really fun) and then we're heading straight to Kuwait, where we'll stay for a few days and then go to Iraq. It's going to be one long flight, so I juiced up my i-pod and loaded a bunch of books to take with me. I'm really excited.

We've had ten inches or more here in the last two days ('here' being north-east England). Seems like most of the tri-county area has ground to a halt -- schools and universities are closed, shops are shut, the works. It's chaos. But very pretty chaos...

Still no snow here, we've had a mild fall this year.

There have been very low (For us) temperatures, down to -1.5 or -2 during the day, it was noticable how the temperature went up near the coast, but so far only a slight dusting overnight and a few flakes during the day, lots predicted though.
