    I am so pumped!

I worked ten hour days for over a year. (*pant, puf*) But my new novel just came out.

The way the world works is so strange... World War II should never have gone the way it did. Two obscure men changed the lives of everyone in the world with their overinflated egos.

One is so obscure, we know his position (Commander of a US Army base in New Mexico) but not his name.

He changed the entire Pacific war simply because he got annoyed one day.

A fiction writer could never get away with making up a scenario like that... but that is the fact of history.

The nice folks here have let me put a thingy in the Classifieds about my Alternate History novel, The Bat and Balloon War.

    Thanks, guys.=D>

    Thanks folks!

It is such a rush to have a buncha books with yer name onnem.

Now I need to have somebody take me by the hand and tell me how to get this opus on Kindle.

I went to the site, and simply zoned out. I am a right-brainer, and totally weirded out by the legalese. Can somebody just explain to me HOW the electronic books (anybody's) get to the book purchaser?

    The whole thing is scary.

Amazon has great customer service, their response to your question would be rather quick. Congrats on the book! A milestone to be celebrated!

    Thanks, Branlees.

This may amuse you: I jumped through the forty-leben hoops, and got the book listed on Kindle. Yeah... and then I got a note from them:

"We have put your book on HOLD because you have not met all the requirements. The requirement you have not met is that you have not listed who the author is."

    CRIKEY!!!

    Howzat for being humble? (*snork*)

My brilliant red-headed wife of these last 51 years has fixed it. They say it will appear in a week or so. YAY.

Oh that's too funny! All that and no mention of who the author is? You are much too humble.

Will you ever write a story for which no character will have cause to reproach you? (Stephen R. Donaldson: "The Creator" to Thomas Covenant)

    Thankee, ScartlettDear!

    The odyssey continues...

So I tried to Google "The Bat and Balloon War -- An Alternate History Novel of WWII"

    Got a response:

    NOT FOUND.

    Whut? Whut the heck?

So I looked under my name. Found it... And found that the Amazon people MISSPELLED "Balloon".

Used one "L". <-- so the search turned up zilch-o.

Geez. Finally -- with several semi-exasperated phone calls***, I got it straightened out.

The Customer Service guy's name was Yaniv. "Yaniv" means "he will speak" in Israeli. But it does NOT mean "he will speak ENGLISH". Took forever to get the problem across...

Now... PLEEZ... sumbody go out and buy it.

And now here is sumpin ALL authors should know:

Folks who MAY be interested in your novel can download about 57 pages of it to their Kindle or Nook --freebies-- to see if they like it before ordering it.

I think this is a great idea.
