And then there was justice :)

I have written a story in a social group jointly with another co writer on this site. It was like an rpg, but one that had lasted for a long time. Recently that co writer was banned from this site and given his behavior here I could understand that. It did however stop the story as it hadn't finished yet.

He told me that he had moved the story to another site and when I followed the link I found out that he had posted part of that story in an open forum. I found that upsetting as the story was very personal to me and he knew that. What was worse however was that he had stated there that he was the writer of the story and had not mentioned me at all. When others had questioned that the story changed point of view every so many lines (which it did because he would write a few lines and then I would write a few and so on) he explained it away saying that the story was experimental. It wasn't experimental at all. Half of it was mine!

I addressed this with the moderators of that site and to prove my point I copied them in on an email conversation that I had had with this writer about the story in which he admitted that he had posted it there without my permission and without mentioning that I was the co writer.

Today they informed me that the story has been removed. They also copied me in on an email they send to him from which it became clear to me that this wasn't the first time that he had taken someone's work. I am very happy that I claimed my right and that I won It was Baron actually who gave me the advice to do this. So thank you very much for that.

He sounds like a right piece of work. Stealing someone else's writing = lowest of the low. I'm glad you got it sorted it, Mistique.

Good for you! No disagreement here--plagiarists are about as low as you can get on the journalistic food chain.

I find that pathetically sad, the need to plagiarize, that is. Good to hear you sorted it out. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Way to go, Mistique. Good on you pursuing justice. No reason why someone should get away with that.
Let's see if my above post is deleted without explanation. Wouldn't be the first time.

Good for you for standing up to this jerk! The need to steal some one else's work is a very sad reflection on the theif's character, as in they have none at all.

    Thanks all of you.

Eluisa: yeah it wasn't nice. I enjoyed writing with him and clearly I wont do that anymore.

Cael: I thought for a moment he just didn't get it and that was why I hesitated about persuing it, but now I know he has done it before so he did get it.

Gumby: yeah, the one good thing for me is that he apparently found my work worth steeling.
