    A somewhat optimistic thread :)

    Morning all,

So these last couple weeks have been some good ones for me.

My mother gave birth to a new little baby brother, George, on the 27th July, and he's one of the funniest little people I know, making hilarious sounds and faces every time I'm with him. Of course there's the crying, but you get used to it after a while.

Then, there's work, where I was appointed Employee of the Month in July and given tickets to Wembley to see United and Chelsea play for the Charity Shield. Twas a nice day out and I was chuffed to be given the title being one of the youngest working there.

I also got the highest PR rating my manager can give me, so a little pay-rise coming my direction at the end of September.

And on top of that, today is results day.

I opened them up to find I'd got a U in Maths. Ouch. But then I remembered I'm dropping it and moved on to my other subjects.

AAA in English, History and Philosophy. Absolutely chuffed to bits.

So, I know this is probably very un-modest and boastful, but I'm in that mood and wanted to share my happiness with the rest of the place.

Plus, for others who are picking up results today, how did you get on?

    Tom

So, Tom, I take it your plans to become a theoretical physicist have been put on hold?

As my redneck friends in Mississippi would say, 'Yuh done good, son, yuh done good'. But then, none of them ever got an A in English. Or history. Or philosophy.

Sounds like several things well worth being happy about! Congrats on the grades and the PR rating (and the raise!). And it's very cool to get a new baby bro like that. I love to hear some positive things, this made my day!
