    Feeling rather good

despite the fact that I am right now procrastinating here by reading and writing. I've a room to clean, so my friend of many years will have a place to call her own while she visits, a kindness I hope for someone that is surely not used to the chaos that is our daily life. Haven't seen her for almost 14 years and am looking forward to it with great anticipation and yet a little trepidation too, for surely my eccentricities and laziness cannot go by unnoticed. Still, it is she, and so I take a deep breath and smile. But it's 'that' room, the one everyone throws everything into and it's been a really long time that I've not been able to tackle it, going in, looking around and heading back out doubletime. Thanks to rubbermaid though, I think I can do it before Saturday, which by the way is my Birthday...40. In fourteen years, she has never forgotten my birthday, and so it is fitting that she arrives on the very day.

We've come back from a really good vacation in Hawaii, a vacation that did indeed relax and rejuvinate, hence my decent mood, even having had to get up at the buttcrack of dawn to go to the dentist for my proper crown. Even on the rag. Even in a house that needs thrice as much time as I have to get it in order.
My younger sister got married while we visited, and is happy, and that makes me very happy for her. We got to be there, my boys ring bearers and my girls lei girls and they held her train.
I meant to do the monster story, I thought on it for quite some time, even started it, but alas my life at home faded away and I could not hold to it. Looking forward to another though, now as things slide back to our normal. Gymnastics will start in two Mondays at freaking dawn [9 am] four days a week and I'm not even cussing, see?

It's always good when friends visit -- but the side benefit is, it forces you to get things done around the house. My sis is coming from Italy June 26, so we're frantically trying to get it all together. Same deal here, the guest room is packed with all kinds of stuff.

Wow -- Hawaii. That sounds like an awesome vacation and celebration. Lucky you.

Happy b-day, almost -- and nice to hear from you. Cheers!

Happy Birthday, Eluixa. Man, I've never been to Hawaii, or any tropical-looking beach. I am tres jealous. Yes, I just incorporated french into my english. I'm a little crazy like that. Aaaaaaaanyways. . .

Good to have you around, Eluixa I'll probably hop into one of the coming LMs if I get some time. Your house woes make my house look utterly boring, cause it's just me and I'm a bit of an order freak so it's very stale and stagnant. I should get a plant or a puppy or something.
Let's see if my above post is deleted without explanation. Wouldn't be the first time.

Happy Birthday. Glad you enjoyed your vacation, sounds lovely right now looking out at the rain, yet again.

Good luck tackling that room. We haven't adjusted well to both parents working and my whole house probably looks as bad as that one room. I'm hoping to get one room clean before I have to work this evening. So I'll be cleaning with you.

Caelum, you'd probably have a panic attack in my house. Even when neatened, it's very lived in. Puppies eat your shoes, and other things you'd rather they did not, lol. I love my puppies, but they bring in the allergens, the mud, shed, slobber and eat the kids stuffed animals, not that I mind much, as they seem to multiply anyhow. Plants are nice though.
And Kat, I commiserate. Turning on some good music helps me a lot. DH usually lights a fire under my butt, but he's not here this week.

Ugh! This is hard. I remember when all I owned fit in a volkswagon bus. Insanity now. I think I'd better go have some more plum wine.

I hear you on that. We lived for 2.5 years in a travel trailer. Now we have a 2300 sq ft house full of crap. We've only lived here two years. It's insane how much stuff you accumulate in that time.

Yeah, I put on my mp3 player, some Lady Gaga, Madonna, whatever that's really upbeat. It def. helps get me up and going.
