Overdue

It's like being constipated but worse. Labor... well, what else is there to say about it except that once you've been through it, you never look forward to it... and that I'd rather have gotten it over with before now but the stress is just dragging on because this kid just doesn't want to leave.

Had monstrous contractions for the last two days but only one today. I'd been hoping my body was gearing up to push this squirmy pup out but... ugh. Apparently not. So I get to go to an OB appointment this afternoon and wonder if they'll do a fluid level check and induce me this evening.

My third was that way, too. Start, stop, start, stop. I empathize with ya.

Here's hoping you'll be seeing the wee one face-to-face sometime in the next 24 hours!

Good luck, Seig! My kids have been stubborn about coming out, too. Apparently they like it in there.

One of mine had such a big noggin, that she got stuck. Had to come out by emergency c-section.

Good luck seig, hope all goes well.

See, now...ordinarily I like men. I do. But it's moments like this that just make me want to grab a random man by his ears and yell, "Call your mother and say you're SORRY!"

I haven't had the luxury of knowing what child birth is like. My friends keep telling me I need to have a kid. Yeah right. I'm 31 and I'm still not ready for that...perhaps I never will.

ROFL!

Well, I just got back from my appointment. Midwife "stripped [my] membranes" which essentially is sticking her hand up the hoodie-hoo area and scratching some really sensitive stuff (like the baby's head). It hurts. A lot. And I'm supposed to expect bleeding as a result because she 'wasn't gentle' in her own words.

Oh well. I've had some nasty contractions (and made chili afterward) so hopefully this baby thing goes somewhere soon.

Good news is that the amniotic fluid level is fine and the baby passed the non-stress test with flying colors so they'll wait to induce me until the 28th. Unfortunately, my mother flew in from Indianapolis for two weeks... and the two weeks are rapidly dwindling... because she's leaving on Nov 1.

Jesus Christ! Ohhh! There's no place in this forum that's safe anymore.

Oh sweet lord. I had the same reaction as Adrian when I read that line.

Good luck. I think if I were a woman I'd just have them give me a C-section.
