So now I look like a man...
OK, minus the boobs and a rather nice ass if I do say so myself.
But I went to get a hair cut today. See, three or four months ago, I had my wonderfully long (but horribly split-ended) hair chopped off into a somewhat cute, layered style. Not my favorite, but not bad. And in those four months, my hair grew out again as hair is wont to do and the layered cut started to look sloppy.
So, I went to have it fixed to prepare to grow my hair long again. By that I mean I went to have it cut into one length again, and because I'm a good little customer, I even brought a magazine cut out of a woman with hair like I wanted.
I was up front about it, too. I sat in the chair and said in perfectly comprehensible Norwegian, "I want this." And I pointed emphatically at the woman in the picture. "Can you do it?" I asked.
"Yes," said the Asian-Norwegian woman, smiling politely. "I can."
Now my hair is about four inches too short--that is to say, about to my earlobes--and I look like a man.
And to top it all off, I broke my toe this morning. It's a funny thing too because about a week ago, I had one of those crippling, toe-stubbing incidents. You know, the ones where you stand there for several long moments as kind of a statuesque portrayal of someone in the seventh circle of hell. At the time, I was sure I'd broken it. But no, it was fine after about an hour.
This morning, I did it again, but I didn't think anything of it at the time. It was one of those walking ones where you mutter "fuck" but just keep going.
But now it's all purplish and so swollen that it makes my foot feel lopsided when I walk.
Great day for me.

The great thing about hair cuts is you get used to them, no matter how much you hate them. It's a comfort to know all you have to do is wait a few weeks and everything will be all better.

Maybe this will make you feel better. I dated a girl who was a cellist. She had an important recital and went to get her hair done. I think she wanted a wave or something -- but whatever it was, they left it on too long or whatever and she ended up with little curls. She cried at first, then got mad and stomped back in demanding they do something. Well, they tried to straighten it, but ended up singeing it with a curling iron and had to cut off the burnt part, and then even it up. I can't describe how awful it looked.
To add insult to injury, the venue where she played used her picture in a brochure for the following season's concerts.

I didn't mention, she was completely insane and wanted to vandalize the salon. She would have done it too, if I hadn't talked her out of it. After we broke up she was arrested for trashing her ex-boyfriends car. Nice girl. But she looked so hot when she played that cello.

I think you have to amputate. Your choice whether it's the rest of the hair or the toe.
But, seriously, the difference between a bad haircut and a good haircut is approximately two weeks.
*hugs* Sorry about the toe, though. Might want to get that seen to.

If it's the pic in your avatar, it's not that bad. It has kind of a Christina Ricci prior emaciation look, which is hot.

When I first seen her avatar change, I was going to post that she kind of looks like Christian Ricci. Then I decided not to, because I didn't want to offend ( although, Christina's not an ugly girl ). Funny you should mention that, Malone.
Sorry about your day. I hope tomorrow is better and brighter for you! I don't think your haircut looks bad at all. I had to have my hair cut awhile back because of serious split end issues and cried like a baby after the nice asian lady took waaaay too much off, so I feel your pain. I just kept telling myself that, "it'll grow back." : )

I think your hair looks great Tia. And Foxee is right, two weeks and you'll be loving it again.
I had a bad experience, much like Joe said about his ex--although, not quite as bad. I had my hair colored at a salon but was allergic to the dye. Not only did it create welts all over my scalp, but it turned my hair fire-engine red! They couldn't bleach it out (I'm a brunette) so my only resort was to cut it off. I had a short-pixie (think Julia Robert's, Tinkerbell) that was bright red.
Awful!
I eventually dyed it black and decided to go "punk" for a few months until it grew back.

Did you ever read Gail Porter's autobiography?

No Serv, but I have seen a documentary-thingamajig about her. I suppose I should be thanking my lucky stars that my hair's gonna grow back, eh?
Malone/Simplicity, it's funny. People have been telling me I look like Christina Ricci since high school, but until just now when I read your posts and actually looked at my new avatar, I never saw it. That actually does make me happy, because I was watching a (horrible) movie of hers a couple weeks ago and thought that she looked really pretty in it.
Smiling, that is one of the most horrible hair-incidents I've ever heard. But I'm glad it worked out OK. But couldn't you have dyed it like blackish or dark brown? I've only dyed my hair twice so I'm not really savvy about how it works exactly.
Thanks everyone. I really do feel much better, and I think Foxee's right that in two weeks it'll be fine again.
Oh, and Kang, when exactly have you seen my butt!? *glances cautiously at the window*
