Deteriorating
Typically this happens to me once or twice a year and lasts no more than a day. It starts with one decisive action that cuts my self esteem in half, then it becomes a vicious cycle as so: I feel worthless, I can't write/do anything, I try writing/doing something, I fail, I feel worthless, I don't even try to write or do anything, I feel more worthless, So on. So far it has lasted a month and I feel no signs of an end. I've never really been depressed, is this it? Not to mention, fall is here, winter on it's way, heating is a dull memory...
I really don't know what this thread will achieve. Sometimes writing things down helps. Enjoy poking my innards.

We all feel down sometimes. And writing things out releases excess energy. Or you could go for a job. But don't worry, I doubt your depression will last. Most people simply get bored of feeling depressed and move on.
I won't give you any advice. Whenever i'm feeling depressed the last thing I need is for other people(though well meaning) to give their 2 pence on why i'm unhappy and what I should do to break the spell. All it does is annoy me.

I was going to suggest a lightbox for SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), it's that time of year and I've got mine on. But, hey, you're feeling better so that's good.
Sometimes, I believe, just coming here and writing a note can help. Makes you feel one of the gang and reminds you who you are (i.e. a writer!). One of those moods is often the best friend to creativity!
Anyway, glad you are okay.
