It's fun, and you'll probably end up knowing most of the kids. Especially by your senior year, you'll be amazed at how many people you know of what seemed like a huge, faceless mass on the first day.

I was nervous my first day too, Kasey. By lunch time, I was in the Principal's office. By home time, I was in detention. Heh. To this day, it's still a legendary first day where I come from! Well at least I'm famous for something in my school. It sure as hell wasn't grades.

I actually loved highschool. My older sister was a senior when I was a sophomore. She introduced me to a lot of people, and they each gave me a run down of do's and don'ts. About 5 of them stressed to me to never run to class, apparently that was really dorky. I never ran, in fear that somebody would see me and laugh. heh. My first day sucked because it seemed like so much at once, and my highschool was 3x bigger then my jr. high, but it all turned out great once I got used to it. : )

Good luck with it! My first day was wedesday(im sophomore) is pretty sweet. It is really different than Middleschool, in a good and bad way. Personally, I like highschool; so many more personal freedoms.

Senior year started about two weeks ago for me.

It's intimidating at first, but you'll get used to it really quickly. Don't worry about it, you'll be fine.

I for one have a love-hate relationship with high school - I've geared most of my high school towards getting into university, so I feel like I've missed out on a lot of really interesting classes and opportunities that could have been really fun. This year I'm trying to have more fun with school.

Basically, it's not that bad, nothing to be really afraid of...but after four years, I'm ready for a change.

~Christian

EDIT: Just wanted to chime in again and say that Malone is totally right. My high school is admittedly rather small, but I know every single kid in the entire school - grades 6-12. You'll soon know a huge amount of people, and then life gets much more interesting

Do both of those things, or you won't be cool.

Today I returned to high school. I would have gone back earlier except there has been much construction work going on in my school.

So Kasey, made any new friends yet?

That's good. When I first started high school it took me ages to make any friends.

This isn't meant towards the OP in any way, but did none of you guys not enjoy high school? I didn't, to be honest.

I haven't really...enjoyed it. I just haven't minded it so much.

Looking back I can see a bunch of things that I could have done that would have made the experience enjoyable, and a bunch of things that could have made it hell. But I ended up taking the middle road and now I'm relatively apathetic about the whole ordeal.
