I just feel like bitching

So you would think without a Monday to start off the week and tomorrow being Friday I would be happy. But this week has sucked. I feel like I can't clear my head. There's such much to do at work and at home and I can't seem to organize my life. Usually this isn't a problem. I am a huge fan of lists, but even that is failing me. I even tried going to bed earlier, something my mother and husband insist is a major influence on my behavior, but I am still tired, cranky, and out of sorts.

On top of work and home being on overload, my knee gave out on me. I have no clue what's happened to it, but it hurts like a bitch. I can't walk anywhere without hobbling and truly feeling like I am about to bite the dust. I can't remember doing anything to make it feel like this and am hoping it will just go away.

In the grand scheme of things, my life really isn't that bad. I guess I just feel like bitching.

Sorry. I played hockey and ran track in highschool and before, so I'm just waiting for my knees to give out. They pop EVERY time I bend them, no exceptions. So from one knee gimp to another, I know it sucks.

I think what makes it worse is, all the bad shit seems to happen all at once. At least that's the way it is with us. So, it just makes things seem much worse than they are. All and all, we've got it pretty good. A roof, food, transportation and good health.

Thanks Malone. I really didn't think I had done anything to make my knees week. I played volleyball back in the day but that was over 10 years ago now.

All the shit hits the fan at the same time. That is for fuckin sure. The past year and half has been that way. I can't express how badly I want next year to be completely uneventful in every way. No deaths, no marriages, nothing.

But like you said, overall it's okay. I am surviving just fine. Just not as happy as I would like to be.

I wish I had the had the mindset my wife has. We'd saved a little money to buy some furniture etc. And then a few weeks ago the water line from the street broke -- 3800.00 to fix. I was cursing and foaming etc. and my wife was like, hey, at least we had the money.

Or she'll say something like, at least we have water. Coming from anyone else it would be sanctimonious, but she really thinks that way. I'm not saying it isn't annoying sometimes.

My husband does the same thing if I am the one flipping out. He's a Marine so his line is "Adapt. Overcome. Improvise." or "It's not like we're going to die!" But it always just pisses me off =) And of course, if it has to do with him. . .well fuck, the whole world might as well have exploded.
When I'm not cranky, like I am this week, I find it hilarious.

I guess when you're a Marine and have to squat down and shit in sand beside your Humvee as you're being shot at, civilian problems can become rather mundane.

Have you or your husband watched the Generation Kill miniseries on HBO? It follows a group of recon Marines as they invade Iraq. Really shows how badass the guys are, and how incompetent the Army/Marine high command is in general.

It was on everyday sunday night at 9. It's seven, one-hour episodes. It's over now, but I'm sure they're repeating it. It's on OnDemand too.
