How was your previous six months?

Well folks, it's been a long long time. Most of you probably don't even remember me. I've been off these forums now for nearly six months. That's, what, nearly a decade in cyberland?

In March, my wife and I separated. I moved to the noise and anonymity of Chicago and she stayed behind in Kentucky. We've been moving inexorably toward divorce, which will happen a few weeks from now, on a Tuesday. I've read that ten percent of all Americans are divorced. That's a healthy number by any standards. It's certainly more than I could ever hope to count.

Still, at this moment, I feel like the little black dot in the middle of all the white dots.

Anyway, I'm back for the moment. Just anxious to start reading and posting again. I never stopped writing.

Lost

My literal mind asks 10% of all Americans or of all married Americans, it's a lot of anguish either way. Hope things get better for you from now on, and welcome back.

Welcome back, Lost. Sure sounds like you've had a hell of a time, but there is something nice about feeling like that little black dot sometimes.

Hey pal. I suppose we never really know if our contribution here makes a difference. Let me assure you that yours has, at least for me, and I'm sure others as well. A few comments and words of encouragement from you when I first started posting made all the difference to me, right at that point when a beginner is wondering if he's wasting his time and everyone else's.

I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties. Maybe the forum can provide some distraction. I'm always glad to see your name at the bottom of the page every once in a while. So hopefully you'll be back a lot more often.

Cheers!

Thank you everyone. It's good to hear from you. I'm not a blathering idiot most of the time, I swear it. I just felt an explanation was needed for such an extended absence. Especially now that I see a thread is up debating the fate of vanished members.

It's good to be back.

Thanks.
