Only with you

Something you’ll never know:

I don’t think you realise,

Each time we’re together,

How you make me feel.

The thought that we are only joined,

If only by being at the same place at the same time,

Not physically,

For such a brief passing of time,

Makes me think my lonely tears will flow easily,

As the night draws to its inevitable close.

I look at you,

And think if I could ever love at all.

It would be this man:

His advice guards me,

He makes me laugh freely,

at life,

at myself,

at anything.

And I wish,

More than anything,

You knew how weak I was,

Whenever you watch me.

I won’t tell you I need you,

Or that I dream about you.

I’ll just keep thinking,

that if things were different,

I wouldn’t be awake,

At two in the morning,

Wondering if you picture me,

At any time,

Only with you.
