I hate this and need help
This isn’t supposed to be a comparison between the homeless and the fortunate. Somewhere I got lost and I don’t know how to fix it. I don’t want it to be a rant about the homeless and how bad off they are.
EINSTEIN’S THEORY
In this life the questions that plague us greatly out number the answers bestowed upon us. What stands ahead of me? What should I do? We are contained in our skin, which is contained in this world by gravity and the atmosphere. The earth is contained in the solar system by gravity and Newton, the solar system in the galaxy, and the galaxy in the universe, and the universe in… What? How is the universe contained? What is it in? Is there a source? Are we alone? Are miracles real? So many people who really believe in their faith have some sort of prayer. Ranging with everyone from self serving to hope for others, many of which happen to be needy or down in their luck. Please let me be beautiful, let me be famous, let me loved and adored by some Adonis, let me win the lotto so I can buy my happiness. Has anyone who didn’t get their answer they wanted ever stop and think that they actually did? Relatively speaking there is at least one person that we are “better” off than. Want to be thin? You are compared to the thousand pound man. Want to be rich? You are compared to the homeless. Has anyone ever stopped to think that our prayers are being answered because they aren’t being answered? There is at least one person in the world that admires someone else’s good fortune. Beauty is said to be in the eye of the beholder. What about wealth? What about kindness, mentality? With out getting into a debate about whether or not a source exists and assuming that every man is his own ruler of his world, couldn’t anyone obtain what is someone else’s? The grass is always greener on the other side. But how about watering, growing, and improving the grass on this side? How easy is it to ignore the less fortunate? To see them is depressing, I won’t lie. To watch them beg of change is disturbing and yet have you ever wondered what goes through their mind? Who do they admire or are they too busy worrying about how they are going to feed themselves and find shelter that night, to be envious of Angelina’s lips or George Clooney’s hair. I have a homeless woman who comes in to my store with all of her belongings every morning to get out of the cold. I know she works at a grocery store down the street and doesn’t drink or smoke and instead of being resentful or envious she is so grateful and nice to everyone she sees. She is growing her grass day by day making the best of what she has. If we all stopped and became homeless or a child of Ethiopia for one day how would the world change? On the list of importance where would Angelina’s lips fall? Our prayers are being answered everyday before we even pray them, but we don’t like the answer and choose to ignore the fact that out there someone else does look up to us. Relatively speaking everyone is better and worse off than everyone else and that makes everyone equal. So what are we praying for?
