short opening

This was one of the many attempts I made at introducing a sci-fi so here it is in File 13...

I have often heard that history is written by the hands of the victorious; a statement I would be inclined to agree with but for the fact that it implies Darwin's theory of Natural Selection is accurate. Perhaps if he had known that truth about us science would have developed differently. The world now would be as it should have been.

Forgive my vagueness, it is difficult to express all you need to know in a meager few paragraphs. The knowledge I possess needs to be explained slowly. The realization you will experience, the disbelief, maybe even the fear will jepordise everything. Believe this - it has all been experienced before.

Now you may ask why I am speaking out. Part of the answer is simply that I am tired of living a lie. I have spent too long lurking, standing by and doing nothing. I will not reveal my identity just yet though. I wish to keep myself unknown for as long as possible. Soon enough I will be hunted once more. The other reason is that this will be the only documentation left of the secret - over time the rest has been either altered or destroyed.

The story you are about to read happened not so long ago. I did not witness the unfolding of all the events in the beginning but I was involved enough to be able to relate an almost flawless account of what happened.

I like the prospect of the protagonist being hunted, of knowing something that's dangerous and that threatens his/her life from some person/group. I think it adds excitement to an intro.

Cheers! I was thinking it was a little vague when writing it but wanted it to act as an attention grabber to get the reader thinking about which character was narrating the story. Might go back and re-edit it as I progress
