Wondering
So I am stood there looking at the wall, wondering if I want a piss and thinking about what I have just been watching. A really nice lady who was looking after autistic kids and made a point of telling them that they were autistic and this was the root of their problems, and I'm thinking to myself "I know what I like may not be good and I know what I believe may not be true, I make mistakes. My personal internal world and the real world don't always match just as the social and ontological realities don't match sometimes. Laws are made by lawmakers who may or may not be influenced by considerations of practicality, morality and things they would give names like "The practical social reality" which are usually sneaky ways to do nasty things. These autistic people didn't seem to hold concepts like this, they are literal. They didn't use or understand similes for example, their relationship between their personal world and and reality is much more direct. It seemed this was something different from stupidity that can't see beyond concrete reality, some of them display considerable intelligence if measured in another way, it seemed wrong to write them off and then explain to them the impossibility of their situation. Then I pissed it all up against the wall and thought "Yes, but we are all in an impossible situation in the long run.
