uh... untitled
i wrote this ages ago, and decided to post it. it isn't finished, and i am hoping to work on it again when i can think of some ideas.
It was a clear night when I became a vampire. A girl made me. She looked about my age, but she had been a vampire for a long time, so she was actually about fifty. We were in her new Jaguar. Black with leather seats. She told me being a vampire was great, better than sex. Before, I would have laughed at her, but now I know it is actually really good.
Anyway, I am going off topic. We were in her Jag, and she was telling me how great it is to be a vampire. “C’mon,” she said softly. “You do want to be immortal don’t you?”
“Yes,” I said without realising. “I do.”
Just then, she tore into my neck with her sharp teeth. Pain seized my whole body and I passed out. When I awoke, she was holding her bleeding arm to my mouth. “You have to drink it Ben!” she whispered. “Or you will die!”
I touched her blood gingerly with my tongue. Before I knew what was happening, I was slurping her blood like an animal. Just then my head started to ache and everything went black.
An hour later I woke up. Jessy was resting her head on my shoulder smiling. “Hello,” she said cheerfully. “C’mon, lets go for a drive.” We pulled out of the car park and when I was about to put my seatbelt on, she stopped me. “You don’t need that silly.” She smiled at me.
“Oh yeah,” I said to myself. This was great. I didn’t need a seatbelt and I liked it. “You mentioned that being a vampire was better than sex,” I said. “What did you mean?”
“Vampire love is better than human love.” She giggled. “Why? You wanna try it?”
“I don’t know. Does it hurt?”
“A little.” It was obvious from the way she looked at me that she was looking forward to my answer.
“Is it as bad as becoming a vampire?”
“No honey, its ok, you don’t have to if you don’t want to,” she teased.
“I w-want to.”
We stopped in a car park and she took me inside the building. She dragged me up the stairs to her apartment. She grabbed my shoulders and pushed me to the ground. She opened her mouth and pierced my neck. The pain was as intense as a kick to the balls by an athlete with steel toecaps. How could I describe this to a girl? Imagine you go to school in your undies, then think of it as physical pain. That’s not even close to.
I must have blacked out from the pain and shock, because I opened my eyes and she was signalling for me to bite her. I dug my sharp fangs into her neck. Vampire blood is very intoxicating, and since we vampires cannot eat or drink anything other than blood, it is our substitute for alcohol.
After my first experience of vampire love, I was happy just to lie there and let her rest her head on my chest until morning, when we would get into her coffin.
The night after I walked back ‘home’ to tell my little brother. “Hey Blake!” I shouted loudly. “I’m home!”
“Where’ve you been? Mum’s been worried sick!” Tears begun to trickled down his cheek.
“I, was with a friend,” I said trying to cheer him up. “Don’t worry.” I sat on his bed beside him and smiled, trying to hide my fangs.
“You were with that vampire!” The disgust in his voice was obvious.
“So? What is if I was?”
“Did she…?”
“Yes Bake, she bit me.”
I pulled the collar of my hooded jumper down a little to reveal the bite marks. “C-cool,” he said weakly.
A few minutes passed before the silence was broken. “Well, I suppose I’d better go then,” I said finally.
“See-ya.”
I left the bedroom and headed down the stairs. When I got outside I walked into the darkness.
When I reached my destination I saw Jessy there. “Hey sugar!” she shouted as she waved.
“Hello Jessy,” I sighed.
“You don’t seem happy to see me,” she whimpered.
“I just don’t share your enthusiasm. I think my brother is disgusted with me.”
“Are you disgusted with yourself?”
“Of course not, it’s just…”
“It’ll be ok Ben. Besides, if you are ok with being a vampire, that’s all that matters.”
“I suppose you’re right,” I muttered.
Jessy started pulling at my sleeve. “Come with me,” she said enthusiastically. “I have to show you what to do.” She pulled me along the road and let go. “Follow me,” she giggled. “Hope you can keep up!”
“Oh I can do more than keep up,” I said confidently.
We were running for a while before we finally stopped at a bar. We walked in and the smell of stale blood and dead people hit me immediately. I got dizzy but Jessy helped me keep my balance. “Woah there,” she giggled. “It takes a while, but you’ll have to get used to this smell.
“What is this place?” I asked, although the number of pale people with glistening canine teeth kinda gave it away.
“This is a vampire bar. Here, you can get blood if you haven’t had a proper ‘meal’ in a while.”
“Why are there so many teenagers here that are obviously not vampires?” I asked.
“Because they are easy targets for ‘people’ like us, and if they’re drunk, it’s easier.”
“Oh right. Ok.”
A young boy walked out of the bar, struggling to keep his balance. “Follow me,” whispered Jessy. “There goes the perfect chance for me to teach you.” She dragged me out of the bar and we begun to follow the boy.
We finally stopped at a car park. The boy entered a red car and put the key in the ignition. “This kid has a Ferrari!” I whispered. “I wonder how much his insurance is, or did he steal it?”
“Shh!”
Jessy walked over to the boy. “Nice car,” she said. “Can I come in?”
“Sure,” said the boy.
“It yours?” asked Jessy.
“Course not, it’s my dad’s I st--- borrowed it from him.”
Jessy whispered something into the boy’s ear and he laughed a little. “You really th---?” was all he managed to say before Jessy struck his neck with her fangs. She buried her mouth in his neck and began slurping.
“I’m gonna puke,” I said, holding my mouth.
When Jessy took her face away from the boy’s neck his head lolled to the side. His eyes were empty and lifeless, and his skin had gone pale. “That, is what you do,” said Jessy as she got out of the car.
I came out from among the nearby bushes wiping my mouth. “You weren’t paying attention, were you?” she shouted.
“Of course I was, why do you think I was throwing up behind the bushes?”
“You’ll have to get used to seeing dead people,” she teased. “Now we need to find someone for you.”
“Ok?”
We walked back towards the vampire bar when Jessy stopped me and pointed towards something. “There,” she whispered. “Kill her.”
I turned around and saw a girl that was about fifteen years old. She had dark purple hair, a spike collar, and dark lipstick. I walked towards the Goth girl and asked the time. She lifted her arm and revealed a sinister looking watch. It had a dark leather band and the clock on the inside was protected by murky glass.
As she begun to say the time, I bit her and threw my neck back. Blood rushed to the wound immediately and sucked it until no more came out. Her body slumped in my arms and I carried her into an alleyway and her body behind a dumpster. It was hidden from all light, meaning it would be hard to find.
I walked back to Jessy and asked her, “How’d I do?”
“Very well considering it was your first kill. Oh no! I can sense the sun coming up. Would you like to stay with me for the day?”
“No thanks.”
“Well, I will get you a coffin for tomorrow night.”
When I got home I saw that the light from the sun was creeping over the horizon. I looked around my room for anything I could hide in. “Cupboard?” I asked myself. I opened it, and saw that there was enough room for me to fit. I walked in and hid behind some shirts, just in case the sunlight got through the small gap between the two doors.
