I have a folder called "old cr*p"

It's where I put everything I wrote when I was 12 through 16, pretty much, but there are a few pieces that I don't have a time frame on. This is one of them. Just a short paragraph of thoughts about:

Fate Versus Free Will

Even before we deem ourselves incapable of making a decision, the choice has been made. Our actions have already been decided, and yet we reassure ourselves with the delusion that we could change our minds if that was what we wished to do. We believe that we possess the ability to push ourselves beyond our limits and to reject what is commonly referred to as fate or destiny. However, no matter how irrational or impossible, the course of our lives will take place as predicted. Perhaps the course of our lives will not take place as foreseen by others, but as we have foreseen them take place in our subconscious minds. That does not mean that we cannot achieve goals or ideals. Humans have proven themselves capable of pushing themselves to unimaginable extremities and leaping thoughtlessly over obstacles which seemed previously unconquerable. There is only a single variable, and that is human beings' confidence in themselves and their decision. In the end, however, that which is wanted shall be obtained, or at least pursued, unless the goal should prove impossible. Depending on the urgency of the goal or destination, the motivation to achieve our will may vary. In that, we have another variable, but it is secondary and irrelevant. Only our intentions are important, and they will be expressed through some means. That is why therapy is futile and yet perhaps vitally essential. Therapy, and the other various forms of expression in which the illusion of free will manifests, serve their function in our society, because they provide outlets for destiny. Great pain lies in knowing about our internal processes. Great power lies in understanding them.

I had that folder too, but I deleted it. Years ago. Then I had another one, and I deleted that too. Wish I'd kept it now...

Likewise hehe
Similarly I wish I'd kept some of my very old writing, but most of my pieces I kept in a little red book that's almost completely faded to white now
It's interesting to go back and see how we progress as writers and as people through our writing - At least that's what I found. Definitely something I like to do on a rainy day; self analysing
