Exclamation [Devious] Chapter4 needs editing, any good?????

[The Interview]
Chapter 4
Lilly and I sat inside without exchanging conversation with each other, we both felt awkward, not knowing what to say. Occasional glances are all we shared; nothing was said at that moment of what was happening to us, or what could happen in the future. I tried to keep my gaze to the ground but found it hard as I couldn't help noticing Lilly, rocking back and fourth in her chair. I was worried at how she was taking all of what was happening, whether she could cope or not. I thought of the last few hours of the day, it all felt like it had gone past in a blur. Only the cuts and bruises reminded me that it was all real, reminded me that the world I had been brought up in was hiding something huge that could I could have never imagined or believed, until now.I looked around Lilly’s apartment and realized what a shit hole she actually lived in. Clothes were strewn on the floor, dishes unwashed in the sink creating a buffet for unwanted flies and ants, but it wasn’t her choice. She had a dozen criminal records; all which weren’t her fault because her dad was a criminal and when police approached her asking information about him she never told them anything, she then was given criminal records for being an accessory to whatever crime her father committed. “I think I’m going to go to sleep” I said, realizing how tired I was. Lilly didn’t reply, she seemed have pulled herself into a sort of mental cocoon. I trudged off to Lilly’s bed and took off the only bit of clothing that I had left on me. Collapsing onto the bed I fell asleep pretty much straight away. That night I had many dreams, most of which contained the paedophile I had encountered, but a lot were a mix of terror and violence. Friends being tortured and destroyed loved ones turning against me, darkness falling over the world and rapping around my body, choking my lungs and squeezing my heart. Finally, my mother’s dead eyes slowly turning black and her soul screaming in my mind with horrible pain.I woke up.I could see a faint red glow in the doorway. I thought it was nothing and started to slide my boxers back on, but a random word popped into my mind, ‘fire’. Then I remembered where I was. Racing as fast as my fatigued body would allow, I burst into the kitchen. “Hey, I’m making breakfast if you want some. Do you like your eggs scrabbled or fried?”I blinked. Lilly was standing in front of the stove. What I thought to be a fire in the house was just the red glow emanating from the sunrise through the window. She looked slightly different. “Err…scrambled I guess” I muttered surprised, “Are you ok?”“Yea, I’m ok” Lilly replied, half-heartedly smiling, but I could tell she wasn’t. Her eyes were red, mascara smudged slightly from rubbing the tears away. That’s when I noticed it. She was in a smart looking skirt, like she was going for an interview. “How come you’re dressed like that?” I asked, as I thought she wasn’t in a great state to be going for a job at the moment. “I’m meeting someone; he said he could help me with my…problem…” Lilly responded, slightly hesitating. She placed my plate on the table. She had put the scrambled eggs in the form of a mouth, bacon for a nose and English muffins for the eyes.I smiled, “This brings back a few memories, Haha” I laughed “So what do you think this man is going to do for you?”Lilly shrugged, “Hopefully teach me how to control my firepower…before I kill someone else” she suddenly dipped her head and dug into her food, trying to hide the tears that had appeared down her face.Standing up, I moved over to her, lifting her chin and looking into her eyes, “It wasn’t your fault, it was uncontrolled. You didn’t will this to happen so you didn’t kill them…it did” leaning over I gave her a long hug, then a peck on the cheek…turning into a romantic kiss, which turned into an erotic make-out session with us ending up on the floor struggling for a breath in between. We were both switching positions on the floor, her on top, then me until Lilly glanced at the clock, “I have to go…sorry.”With Lilly getting up, I dropped my head onto the floor, sighing and not wanting to get up. “Do you have to go” I said groaning, “We could just lay here all day, not worrying about the future…or the past” muttering under my breath. Looking up, I realised Lilly had left.I got up and walked over to the table deciding to finish my breakfast off. As I ate, I realised that Lilly hadn’t made any dishes from cooking it up. Standing, I saw scorch marks in the shape of a fragmented hand. A layer of soot covered an area of the stove.Lilly must have been cooking with the pyrokinesis she’d developed. Moving to the spare bedroom down the hallway, I reached into the cupboard and pulled out clothes that I had left behind in my last visit. It always helped to leave clothes at Lilly’s house, just in case I had to stay there the night because dad was trying to make a deal with one of the not-so-major drug bosses in the local area. Grabbing some clothes, I headed to the bathroom and took of my boxers and turned on the shower. Grabbing the body wash, I lathered up my body and rinsed the dirt and grime from my skin. The water felt soothing on my cuts and bruises. I rubbed the rest of my body with my hands getting rid of any unforgotten dirt, doing it a bit too ruff, as to almost rub off my worries and future dangers. I slipped out of the shower and dried off. Sliding on some cargo pants and a black T-shirt, I walked out to the lounge room. Then I thought to myself, if Lilly needed to control her powers, why had she risked using them this morning, and the night before when she first showed me, unless she could already control them, and she had made up that excuse to leave for somewhere without me.Grabbing a jacket, I raced for the front door and grabbed the keys to my motorbike, which had also been left hear since my dad stole it for me and couldn’t risk having it at his place. I was worried. Lilly was either cheating on me, was on the run, or she was getting in contact with someone who could offer her redemption…for a price.

Looking around, I couldn’t see Lilly anywhere. I had rung up my friend, who happened to be gifted with computers and technology, and got him to trace Lilly’s phone. I don’t know how he managed it but he did it without her having to even call me. I jogged past ‘Laundry Express’ and ‘Canteen Surplus Store’, and headed for ‘The Bistro’ at the end of Herringway Terrace. Breaking into a run I imagined the worst when, I hoped, I was just making a too big of a deal out of this. My gut started to tremble as I grew nearer, when I slowed down and walked into the restaurant/café. The place wasn’t very full so it didn’t take me long to spot Lilly and a man in gothic looking clothes sitting at a table not too far from the lounge. Figuring he wasn’t her type, I sighed in relief as I sat in the lounge area. Lilly had her back towards me so I couldn’t tell what her emotions were. I tried to guess and thought she could be worried as her body looked tense. The gothic man was talking animatedly, like he was trying to convince her of something. She nodded her head and shrugged her shoulders, as if unsure about something. The man then glanced around the room, his eyes eventually lying on me. The man tapped Lilly’s hand and indicated to me as I tried to look away.Lilly looked at me, and smiled reassuringly, as if to let me know something. I smiled back, thinking of our kiss just an hour ago, not knowing that this would be the last time I see her alive…In those few moments, the man on the other side of the coffee table pulled out a knife. I screamed at Lilly to move. She turned around, fear filling her eyes at she saw the man fling himself across the table brandishing a knife.Everything seemed to stand still in those few moments. No sound penetrated my ears at I watched in dismay. The knife, plunging deep into Lilly’s ribcage, then the man turned her around to slit her throat. Although she knew she couldn’t survive this wound, she decided to stop the man from cutting her throat. Her hands shot up in balls of flame, slowly spreading to her elbows. Lilly looked at me for a moment, before tendrils of heat streamed out of her body in a wave of intoxicating flame burning her surroundings and blasting chairs and civilians across the room. The attacker flew out from behind her and across the room. He fell on the ground a metre behind me, half incinerated. I looked down and barely noticed the gothic man disappear in a concave of darkness. Tears covered my face as the blast finally reached where I was sitting and a wave of heat launched me through the window. Shards of glass cut my hands and face, but I didn’t care. The world was dead to me at this point, just like Lilly.

It might be good if you did a lot of editing. A lot.

A reasonable idea but I got lost in all the bland descriptions of what the characters were doing. Ended up skimming most of it. I think you need to put more emotion into this. The things that are happening seem pretty heavy, but youre not giving me a chance to experience the characters' reactions. It reads a bit like story by numbers.
