Revised Section of Book (scfi)

Epilogue:

Pulled unknowingly into a state of vivid precognition, the question of existence becomes confusing. Even before the programming of the construct of reality has unleashed its true potential its complexity is beyond understanding. Infinite possibility and non-possibility already fight to determine each outcome. However, in determining each outcome a new batch of infinite possibility and non-possibility arise complicating reality further. Yet without infinite possibility and non-possibility, complexity could not create the fabric of space/time.

In due time civilizations will rise as empires shall fall, many will fail, and almost none shall live through it all. As living beings, we are always on the verge of some unseen change in the reality that surrounds us. Survival through adaptation is the natural progression in which life evolves to become a product of its environment. With war still raging, each second another life form becomes a fading memory. Hidden beyond our perception of reality ruthless entities seek to annihilate, enslave, and consume everything in their path. United by a common vision of peace we stand on the verge of having our record of existence wiped away.

Nothing expands outward nearly into infinity; a complete lack of sound encompasses the whole region. Deep within this dark lifeless region, the void collapses onto itself giving way to a massive war torn fleet. As each vessel within the fleet materializes, the fabric of space needed to support that vessel is rebuilt. After nearly three million years of near constant day-to-day fighting the fleet’s vast populous can rest, repair, and repopulate in peace.

Near that fleets’ center, within the command rig of a siege class berserker stand two figures. Their identifying features remain hidden under black cloaks as both look outward into the massive fleet as well as the void of space. With over two trillion years of life between them, they are among only eight others who were born before darkness fell upon reality. Whispering in an ancient dialect of their native language, these two remember the last moments on a world once known as home.

Only days had passed since the four million year siege of Stardust and its sister world Zep had ended. Most life on Stardust and Zep had become endangered since the siege had begun, creating an environment in which both worlds were on the brink of becoming uninhabitable. Even though both planets no longer were plagued by war, those who had brought it were re-grouping and breeding re-enforcements just beyond the systems edge. Preventing another siege to both worlds and healing them was our top priority. Every remaining storage facility that had not been brought online during the siege had now been activated. Hundreds of billions of cloned Nano warriors were awakened in preparation for the fleets’ departure….

Memories can provide a strong connection among sentient beings. However, greater bonds are shared between life forms of the same species. Yet still there exists a deeper connectedness within beings of direct relation. One very deep connection exists among three beings of relation to each other. Large portions of history contain accounts detailing legends surrounding these three particular beings. Even when separated by vast distances each one of these three provides the other two with something profound.

“She must be living.”

“Societal Visionary you are correct.” The Legionnaire General whispers.

“Without her neither of us would live longer than a couple thousand years” Replies the Societal Visionary.

“Without you, I could not have high agility or endurance.” States the Legionnaire General.

“And without you younger brother, my senses wouldn’t be as attuned.” Says the Societal Visionary, as her brother shifts his attention from space to within the command rig.

Across the infinite vastness of space, life is becoming extinct. Countless species are simply dying out. Horrifying truths about reality travel through the fabric of space. Answers to civilizations greatest questions now flow through space and on paths leading into every being capable of understanding. Each action taken now requires more effort as it is increasingly difficult to survive another day as more life dies. Unaware that truth is sweeping through space and leaving massive death in its wake, some life forms still go about their normal routines.

“We, among other life forms have achieved capabilities so fantastic yet horrifying that our fight must continue. From matter annihilation to creation, from compression to expansion our understandings of natural processes are at their peak. Even with this understanding, not once has a life form discovered the purpose of it all.”

“What if the purpose for existence is simply to experience reality?” The Societal Visionary says.

“What is reality?” Asks the Legionnaire General, as he turns toward his sister.

“I am not sure, do you believe that questions of origin and purpose will ever be answered or will life fade away wondering?” Questions the Societal Visionary as she looks toward the Legionnaire General.

“If those questions are answered, it is possible that most life forms would not be able to handle those answers. If life cannot handle the answers of origin and purpose, it might have been better if the questions were not asked to begin with.” Says the Legionnaire General, as the soft but defined sound of footsteps grows louder.

“Legionnaire General, I have acquired and compiled all data on the fleets’ status as you requested.” The Legionnaire General turns and sees that the soldier speaking to him is ranked as an Assassin. “Go on.” The Legionnaire General returns his attention toward space once again.

“Three million five hundred thousand coalition ships are missing, two million five hundred thousand coalition ships are damaged, and the one million DoWoo coalition Worldships are in need of new reactor connection points in order to sustain the fleets vast populous.”

“What is the status of the three million remaining vessels?” The Societal Visionary asks.

“The remaining three million fleet vessels report a glitch in their databases.” States the Assassin.

“What sort?” The Legionnaire General starts

“Of glitch…” finishes the Societal Visionary

“All the information within each database is being encrypted then decrypted in incomprehensible languages over and over again.” As the assassin finishes speaking, a distant screaming throughout the ship grows louder until it abruptly stops. The assassin turns in place; her body begins to shake violently. She screams as the bones throughout her body snap. The Legionnaire General and Societal Visionary watch as other crewmembers on the command rig scream as their bones snap.

Spreading ever farther, the truth brutally illustrates just how fragile life is. Extreme conditions can drive even the most benevolent creatures beyond their breaking points. With such a burden to bare acts of self-torture, suicide, rage and thoughts of sorrow are common. Surviving to witness each new moment in this age of answers is a blessing as the chaos called reality unfolds for the first time…

Whether through a slight sense of familiarity or déjà vu, precognition may be imprinted before the construct of reality unfolds. The truth is that while in this compact state, all possible life forms capable of understanding gain knowledge of each aspect of its life span. Most disturbing is becoming aware that even with all this knowledge they do not exist yet. Such realization leads to the knowledge of everything that a given life form could have chosen to do or could have been and is or is not because of every action.

Theory:
The Basic Biorhythm

Yet over two trillion years ago as the construct of reality gives way to life, universal consciousness grows in a time of mystery and questions. A journey of cultural, physical, and spiritual evolution is beginning across hundreds of thousands of galaxies for vastly different forms of life. Some paths of evolution well lead to dead ends, others toward eternal understanding of life and a few toward rebirth into the full spectrum of reality. In each facet of intelligent existence cultural knowledge and technological advances are occurring.

Life has no bounds in its fight to survive under extreme conditions and harsh environments. This fight for survival on one exotic world has led to the rise of living metal. Within a few billion years after the rise of this metallic life, organic forms of life began their rise. Eventually these two types of life merged in certain areas creating a hybrid type of life.

Heat waves bounce off the unprotected ground as a short gust searing of wind passes between some of the closest metallic spires. Rising high above an unforgiving landscape, these spires reflect starlight while eerily casting shadows of survival. In some of the shadows, creatures known as coouts are waking up as dawn brings in a new day.

Across an enormous region of metallic jungles, tropical wetlands, and shallow hills, light of a new day rises above the horizon. As metallic drops of acid rain, descend bringing much-needed nourishment and a pleasant change in weather to this region of Zyfoid. Some creatures in this region are just beginning their daily routine while others are ending it.

Only one species on Zyfoid takes full advantage of the opportunities provided by both night and day. This species refers to itself as Archaics; their record of existence on Zyfoid goes back almost nine billion years. With such a long history, the Archaic’s have built up a powerful and dangerous archive of knowledge. It is this knowledge that keeps the Archaics close to Zyfoid for the time being.

Roughly, three hundred years ago the archaic civilization began a global construction project. It is a project to create a fleet of vessels capable of carrying entire civilizations across the cosmos. Even now, the Archaics work tirelessly in shifts day and night on their fleet of Worldships. Though incomplete, mere components for the first Worldships are already engineering masterpieces.

In a region where patches of lush metallic forests create oases deep within an equatorial desert on Zyfoid, platforms for Worldship construction still rise. A few of the nearest platforms hold Worldship reactor cores already weighing thirty two thousand nine hundred eleven tons. Once active these cores will draw their energy from the core reactions of stars.

Deep within another galaxy across ashen valleys and over old hardened lava flows to rocky coastlines of ever-glowing molten seas. Voodoo Priest Lords attempt to draw out natural volcanic energy as a fuel source to propel them into their local area of the grand cosmos. With their primitive outlook and attitude, such attempts have proved unsuccessful thus far.

Hope is still high however in light of newly formed scientific methods for withdrawal and proper storage of volcanic energies. In addition, certain genetic aspects of a select few Voodoo Priests are under going modification to enhance their ability to work over the lava seas.

Yet in another galaxy, events are unfolding which have already set in motion a longing for war on the grandest of scales. An enslaver twisted into a bizarre reality has surfaced, with a single goal, to have its sinister wrath exterminate all life unpleasing to it. Somehow, this entity has encountered a species of beings that see it as a god. Unpleasant as it may seem the Dark Cloaker civilization is content with eternal slavery in exchange for the promise of becoming stronger. Their first task as slaves begins in the construction of a horrific multidimensional factory hybrid homeworld.

At the center of a fertile region within the cosmos, a system of worlds known as Stardust serves as a united capital for local civilizations as well as the largest galactic trade center within one thousand years by standard methods of galactic travel. Unlike the closest neighboring systems, this one possesses a region where three worlds are temperate enough for liquid water. Two of these three worlds have liquid water and massive quantities of life. The largest of these two worlds and the largest world of Stardust system is Stardust. With a diameter of 1,609,340.00 Kilometers or 1,000,000.00 miles, Stardust is the largest known planet, let alone habitable one.

Five species trace their evolution many billions of years into Stardust’s past. These species are the Seekers, Chilled Cinders, Zyireem’s, Vitux, and Jofils. It is surprising to most races visiting Stardust that five vastly different intelligent races could co-exist on a single planet without annihilating each other before evolving civilized society. Three of these species currently have technology allowing near and deep space travel. Oddly none of these space fairing races have decided to colonize or terraform other worlds.

All across Stardust a seasonal meteor shower appears to have begun, but soon its intensity grows and comets begin to crash into the atmosphere. Burning their outer material first, and then smashing into the surface. Derbies shoot back up into the atmosphere clouding the planet, choking its precious life with every passing second. Skies become pitch black; light no longer reaches the surface of the planet. Within hours from outer space, the planet no longer resembles a world teeming with life, only a black ball. Stardust now chokes under nature's own wrath. An alien virus now consumes plants, animals, and rock. It is not alone however; a plague eats up the atmosphere, chemical and biological elements, and anything else that is left.

Amazingly Stardust fights back, unleashing from it core, deadly fumes, lava, volcanic ash and toxins stored within all plant life. No longer is Stardust just under attack from nature, it is unleashing its most violent forms of nature on its invader and it self. Only one third of all plants and animals survive the weeklong bombardment from space.

As time passes the light seeps through the clouds and ashen skies. Water falls back to the surface washing away ash and embers. The oceans and seas refill to purify themselves of the disaster. Surviving animals slowly repopulate and bare witness to how evolution brings about new species to replace the old extinct ones. In addition, The Seeker race begins their journey to find more of themselves and reorganize their society.

Days turn into months, which spans out to a year. A year then becomes two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten years. Time speeds forward as it does Stardust continues to heal. After two hundred million years, Stardust is fifty percent healed.

The Seekers have begun to reform tribes. However, since their homeworld is so large, it is quite hard to calculate their exact numbers. Therefore, another two hundred million years pass by as they do the planets healing process slows down considerably. At present time, stardust is eighty percent healed.

Also from various shore points Seekers begin to see creatures in shallow waters the somewhat resemble them selves. Yet since Seekers prefer not to travel very far from shore while swimming, it is difficult for them to tell exactly what these creatures look like. As time passes, no longer do they look for these creatures, because as far as the Seekers can tell they are just hunting for food in the warmer shallow waters.

Though as another two hundred million years ends, an elder male Seeker of the one of the coastal forest tribes makes a discovery. It is still early morning, I begin to drink from the sea, water gives me life energy and that is why I drink it. This morning is peaceful; I am crouched on soft sand drinking until mist clouds my vision of the water. Then I hear a splash of something massive a little farther down on the beach. I retreat to the trees in fear of it. At least that annoying mist that ate at the fragile and undisturbed sand did not cloud my vision. What a beast the fog is. It acts as though it thinks, but I knew this not to be true. Again, I hear a splash; my first impulse tells me to investigate it. Under the cover of forest, I hop down to the origin of the splash. I then poke my eyes out of the bush that covers my body.

Before me stands a naked creature, it is beautiful like nothing I have ever seen. It begins to speak a language that I cannot comprehend. Strange yet beautiful, I sit in pure wonder. Its voice soothes my very being. Then in an instant it changes its tone to something that I not only comprehend I truly understand it.

Singing softly it says, “Young ones, come see, see what I have stumbled upon…” it continues to baffle my mind as I sit undercover. Not much time passes before another creature joins the first. In union, they sing once again this time they say, “It is safe, come younglings there is much to learn and see, gain knowledge for the betterment of our being. Together we explore this new frontier, and then eventually reach others worlds bringing with us good tidings and examples.” As the day wears on more of these wonderful creatures fill the shoreline. I know just by what I have borne witness to that these beings will do many great things for Stardust, themselves and us Seekers.

Within the coming weeks, word spread and reconnected with it self in some places that the Seekers were no longer alone. Quietly we watched this new presence evolve a cultural structure. Two years passed and the Seeker population was sure of one thing, that this new species would eventually colonize the landmasses of Stardust. Unaware of how long it would take, Seekers stayed out of site of these creatures. The Seekers did not want to interrupt nature's course for these creatures.

Two thousand five hundred years have passed since a Seeker first saw the creatures. No longer are they referred to as creatures, we Seekers now call them by the name they have given them selves. Nano is that name, it fits them anyway, they have big plans but are so small compared to the size of Stardust.

The Seekers had finally decided that a Seeker census must occur. Now is also a safe time to do such a thing, it begins when one elder, commonly known as an Eminent Guide sends a small sonic pulse into all of its fellow tribe members. Those members then send their own pulses in all directions; each time a pulse is sent out the Eminent Guide receives a small counter pulse from other Seekers. Once the pulse web is complete, the original Eminent Guide can count the counter pulses to get a census of how many Seekers are on Stardust.

During this census, something quite unexpected began happening. Even though every Seeker was correctly counted, very shortly after the census, Seeker Eminent Guides realized that they had not only counted Seeker populations. Each Eminent Guide found that somehow four billion Nanos had ended up in the census as well. Within a week after the census, Seekers began to realize that Nanos could see them. Every time a Nano saw a Seeker, the Nano screamed and ran away. This puzzled the Seekers. Until the oldest Eminent Guides found that, the Seekers had been tethered to a different light spectrum long ago. Looking toward their past for answers they were able to trace this difference to light back to the disaster which they had barely survived.

As these four billion Nanos spread word that there was another species hidden on Stardust, they began to be outcast by their fellow Nanos. The main Nano population told any Nano who made a claim that they could see things that are not there to leave and not return. All over Stardust, these outcasts formed their own tribal groups. As time passed, they realized that somehow they were given a special gift. They became less afraid of what they could now see with their heightened senses. They tried to communicate with these beings that they could see but were not successful in their attempts. That is until the creatures began to speak Nano. Slowly the outcasts taught the creatures Nano; often the creatures referred to these outcasts as Prospects. The outcasts gladly accepted the name and along with it, they learned that the creatures called themselves Seekers. As more time passed, the Prospects and Seekers learned from each other and eventually the Seekers helped their Prospects integrate back into the main stream of Nano culture. The Prospects made sure not to reveal to any other Nano that there was another Species on Stardust. The Seekers also promised the Prospect Nanos that they would protect all Nanos. In return, the Prospects protected Seekers from danger.

Over the next two thousand five hundred years Nano culture evolved even more, they began to discover industry with the help of the Prospects. Small Nano villages disbanded and regrouped to become cities. Nanos did not yet have the technology to reach the cosmos. Even though something from the cosmos draws itself near to Stardust system and then selected Stardust as its Target. Unaware that an invasion looms in the near future Nanos continue about their routines.

You bored me with the first part. Maybe if I knew what happened in the book before reading the epilogue? It was too heavy-handed. You were preaching, soap-box style and it didn't end. The names of the speakers were cumbersome and the punctuation surrounding their dialogue was atrocious and took away from the reading by trying to figure out how to read it. Make it more accessible.

Ya, save the preachy stuff for later, I quit reading after the first paragraph (usually not a good sign). People don't want their sci-fi to sound like a textbook, which is what happened here so try reworking some of it so you're showing us and not having us drudge through lots of technobabble.
