Hi Tom

I'm kind of new myself so not sure if this is in the right place either

I'm also new to writing, so there's not much advice I can give you, except keep writing. I guess it also depends on what you want to write about. Whats your favourite theme? I suggest choosing the one you like the sound of most and go with that. Once you got your idea, you can start thinking about characters and what you're going to make them do in your story. Because its your story. You make the rules. You decide what happens.

Hope this helps.

Candrah

One tip is to work on spelling and grammar mate...

Second is to make sure you keep a record of any thoughts you have on themes, characters or places for a story. They are always good to get ideas from.

Third, like Candrah said, keep writing... make sure you dont get bored with just writing one thing, have a few breaks with little stories that are just mess arounds.

Fourth is to read a lot... The more you read the better you will be. You'll pick up more words to use as well.

Fifth is to enjoy everything you are writing... If you dont like it, dont write it... It will spoil your writing.

Hope I helped,
Cefor

Experiment, fiddle with ideas and follow any idle ideas that you have. Anything that you don't like scrap. Like Candrah said you make the rules so work out what works for you! Any work that you do it may be a good idea to post on the forums so that you can receive advice on how to improve. Good luck! CS

I agree with all, and like someone else said, do not try and copy someone elses writing style, create your own and perfect it. You can do almost everything if you put your mind to it.
