Book of Chthon

~Women are born with it. Men are initiated in it.~

Chapter 01: BloodMoon - Possession

It was nighttime, the starry sky was covered with dark grey clouds. They could feel the forest wanting them to come near and the wind whispering to them as their hair danced. They continued running, torn between the forest that betrayed them and the elements that protected them. Their continuous running stopped with a sudden halt, what stood before them was a cliff and down below was a humongous whirlpool by magickal means in a river that drifted out into nowhere.

“Hekate be damned, what is this?” asked Nikki.

“…we have to get rid of the book,” suggested Andréa.

“What! The book is our life, we can’t,” protested Nikki.

“I rather this book be gone and then let it fall into evil hands,” said Andréa, taking out the book. Nikki turned her head, sensing something lurking about in the shadows. Andréa wrapped the book in Papyri and sprinkled a bit of sand and soil on it. They both sat down and said,

“We call upon space…space and time. To take this book with our rhyme,” chanted Andréa.

“From dust till dawn, upon the 17th hour. Take our fears and deepest desire. We’ll find each other once again,” joined in Nikki.
“And together be connected like time never end.” Andréa through the book and they watched as it turned into a dove and few away into the night.

Suddenly they turned around sensing a force of unknown origin around them; “NIKKI!!!!” screamed Andréa as Nikki fell off the edge of the cliff. The wind pushed hard against her body as Andréa reached out for her falling friend.

“AHAHA!” screamed Renée, exhausted and shaking from this hellish dream. Renée ran her fingers through her black hair, trying to calm her nerves. This dream was nothing new to her, but it would always come in bits and pieces. But this…this was different. It felt stronger, pulling her in as if she was actually there at that very moment…able the touch the very same soil the two girls ran through.

“You—alright?” asked Leon at school the following morning. That morning, Renée Pereira stayed up for the rest of the night, showered, and dressed around seven-ish and walked to school so she could breathe in the fresh air and clear her head. Leon had on a light blue button shirt, brown kaki pants. He also had black hair and mixed skin.

“Yeah I’m fine, just a lot on my mind. That and I didn’t get too much sleep last night. Anyways, how was your date with Robbie?” she asked while putting a text book in her locker. Leon light brown eyes lowered,

“I…I didn’t go,” he said with his head lowered.

“What!” shouted Renee, looking at him with a brow up, as if predicting there was more.

“After Tyson passed, I…I’m just not ready to have a boyfriend again. It’s too soon,” he explained.

“Heyyyy!” yelled Jazzy.

“Hey Jazz, Sup,” said Renée and Leon. “I’ll catch you later,” said Leon walking off into the crowed of people.

“Hmmm, Leon is a cutie. Do you think I can convert him?” she asked curiously.

“Hello! Slut Sasha tried that remember,” informed Renée, closing her locker door.

“Right…who could forget that trick,” said Jazzy as they headed for different classes, “that new club just opened.”

“Andromeda? I dunno…I got like tones of homework and studying to do…”

“Hell to the no, it’s your 17th birthday and we are so goin’ to get our partyin’ on,” assured Jazzy. Renée giggled. “Meet us at the beach after school and let the homework studying free birthday celebration begin.” Renée thought for a moment and to her shock it was her birthday, she had totally forgotten it. What lame forgets their on birthday?

“Greeeat,” said Renée sarcastically as they went their separate ways.

After school Renée started walking back home, she needed to get her swimsuit before going to the beach first. Renée lived in a quite town that really could use some shaking up called New Hope Pleasant. New yes, Hope maybe, Pleasant…no.

“Ahakkadkfseih…” Renée quickly spun around, hearing a faint whisper. She saw no one, unable to decipher the gibberish whisper. She slowly tuned around, “Ahakdkfhsh.” She jumped back, into the arms of Kevin Terrez,

“Whoa, you okay Pereira?” he asked. Her heart sunk for she was in the arms of her high school crush. His body felt so warm and gentle, but yet strong and firm. She quickly moved away,

“Sorry, tripped. Clumsy me,” she lied. Kevin was the star of the swim team, which he had a nice body and very faded hair cut. He had brown-ish hair and copper colored eyes.

“Hey, isn’t today your birthday?” he suddenly asked.

“Ye…yeah,” she said, surprised that he knew.

“What’s wassup. So what are you going to do for your birthday?” he asked curiously.

“Ummm, going to the beach right now to meet up with some friends.

Maybe even check out that new club…Andromeda,” she said.

“Alright, I may see you there,” he said while walking away. She smiled as he left, but her expression quickly turned into panic,

“Did he say…he may be there? At the beach or club?” she said to herself. The thought of Kevin at the beach shirtless, flexing his tight muscles and worst, he would see her in her swimsuit.

She made it to her house and saw that her older brother was home. She ran upstairs to slip into her swimsuit and put on a pair of light blue jeans shorts with a white tank top over the suit and headed back outside as Jazzy’s silver Bug-type car rolled up onto the side. Renée hopped in and within minutes Jazzy pulled into the beach’s parking lot for cars.

Jazzy and Renée stepped out of the car and walked down the stairs toward the sandy beach.

“Hey, there’s Leon,” said Renée.

“Yeah, but what is he doing?” asked Jazzy. They both saw Leon standing in front of a bonfire. An eerie feeling came over Renée for he was just standing there, staring into the infamies fire.

“Leon…Leon…LEON!” shouted Renée. After the third time, Leon finally noticed them and approached.

“Didn’t you hear me calling you?” asked Renée. Leon just had a faint smile and shrugged his shoulders.

“What was that about?” asked Renée. Leon was explaining, but the more he talked the less Renée could hear him. It was as if someone clogged Renée’s ears up with cement. With each inhale she took, a pulsating sensation too over her body.

“Something’s calling me,” she said.

“What?” asked Jazzy. Then Renée notice both Jazzy and Leon was staring at her oddly,

“I mean…what are we standing around here for. Is this a beach or what?” she said, walking more into the sand.

All three found a spot and spread their towels onto the hot sandy floor. Leon took off his shirt while Jazzy took off her shirt and shorts, sporting a sexy dark purple two piece suit. Renée just stretched back, letting her head hit her towel, absorbing sun’s rays and then remembering to put suntan lotion on.

“Aren’t you changing?” asked Jazzy, slapping suntan lotion on her right arm and rubbing it in.

“C’mon,” said Leon as he grabbed her by the hand and yanked her right up. Renée felt nervous of everyone seeing her in her bathing suit, especially if Kevin was out there…somewhere. The beach wasn’t crowed, but had enough people out playing, swimming, and building sandcastles.

“Fine,” said Renée as she uneasily took off her shirt and pants, sporting an all white two piece suit.

“I don’t know why you get so bent out of a shape. You have a nice figure,” assured Jazzy.

“Yours better than mine,” said Renée.

“This…is true,” pondered Jazzy.

“Wow. Conceited much,” said Leon. Jazzy kicked sand at his feet as Renée went over, diving head first into the cold water.

Renée took one good breath in and dove down into the deep, as if the water was pulling her down with it. Renée touched the bottom, but her hands landed on something. She started sweeping away the minerals, as a leatherback book became more and more clear.

“Ahakdkfhsh.” Renée heard the same whisper again from this morning. It was as if the book was calling her as it pulsated with her body. She touched the book as images flashed before her eyes and very mind, catching her off guard as a current quickly swept in like magic. Renée tossed back and forth and the currents darted and rushed her. The swirling vortex pulled her down under to her death.

Her eyelids cracked open for a second as she reached out for the blurry sun overhead. Her hand slowly draped back down, unable to hold her breath any longer her eyelid closed, slowly slipping away from the land of the living, drifting off to the land of the dead. Her eyelids fluttered open a little, seeing a light, a stare so warm and clear like heaven calling to her.

Her vision suddenly became clearer, seeing that it wasn’t light, but the light from the sun being reflected off of a pair of the most beautiful blue eyes she had ever seen. It was a guy, as he suddenly pressed his lips upon hers, breathing life back into her lungs as she gasp for air in his warm moist mouth.

Hello. This chapter managed to get my attention. The one thing I really noticed, is that its pace is too quick and it needs some more description. I personally have this same problem and have to constantly remember to slow the plot down and use more description. Other than that, I found it interesting.

Also, I think you mean Book of Chthon for the title, unless I'm missing something.

Obsession

Chapter 02: Kurzik – Obsession

“I’ll catch you later,” said Leon walking off into the crowd of people of Lavin High School. At the age of thirteen Leon was adopted by a family of six which they knew of him being gay so coming out wasn’t a problem. Then at sixteen he met his first and right now only true love. His name was Tyson Rose and the only thing Leon knew at the time was that Tyson was his future. This happy union came crashing down when Tyson was hit by a car and died a couple hours afterwards. Six months passed and Leon still hasn’t recovered from his loss, still morning over the death of the guy he was going to spend the rest of his life with.

“Oh. Sorry,” said Leon, bumping into someone.

“Wow, you can show up to school, but you can’t show up to a date?” said the guy.

“Robbie…I…I was going to call and…”

“You know what just save it. I can careless,” said Robbie. Leon bit his bottom lip, now realizing that he really did hurt Robbie,
“Robbie look, I…”

“Why if it isn’t queer A and queer B.”

“Jake, mind not like being a jerk for like two seconds?” asked Leon.

“You hear that fellas queer A calling us jerks. I feel hurt,” said Jake dramatically. “I’d rather be a jerk then a damn queer,”

“I’d rather be a queer then an ass,” lashed back Leon. The air was so tick with the animosity shared by these two guys that you could have cut it with a knife. The two stared off, neither one back off,

“Whatever,” said Jake as he shoved Robbie into a locker. He and his two friends walked away like it was nothing.

“Robbie, you okay?” asked Leon, bending over to help him up, “when are you going to stand up to them?” but as his hand reached out, Robbie pushed his hand away.

“I’m fine—just leave me alone!” shouted Robbie, easing his way up. Before Leon could go anything his cell phone went off. He dug through and pulled it out of his pocket and saw that Jazzy sent him a text message, “Meet us at the beach after school.” Leon put his phone away and headed for his chem class after seeing that Robbie was gone.

After school, After school, Leon walked downstairs towards the sandy beach. He had a pair of swim shorts in his locker and he asked his other brother if he could drop him off. Once on the sandy floor, he began walking and turned right. The beach wasn’t bare as people started to unpack their things as the sun went behind a cloud. Leon was early because Renée had to run home and get her swimsuit while Jazzy had to make a quick errand and then pick up Renée. Leon wasn’t paying attention and tripped over a small beach ball, crashing into the sand. He pulled himself up, but noticed something in front of him that wasn’t there before.

There was a fire…a bonfire with weird shaped stones around it as people danced around it. These people were black with glowing light blue symbolic tattoos around them. They were barefoot and bold with a cloth wrapped around them. They chanted away, “Nam Myoho Renge Kyo! Nam Myoho Renge Kyo!” They repeated this chant over and over again as if praising the fire. Leon got a closer look at the glorious flame that danced along with them. Leon couldn’t take his eyes off of it as he stood, mesmerized at what was in front of him. He felt the fire itself intertwining with his soul, his essences. He blinked twice noticing, feeling something from the unknown he had never felt before.

Deep within the fire his eyes widen, seeing a dark void, a shadow slithering about, whispering his name. Leon reached out his hand, coming closer to the call. The dancers suddenly stopped and turned their heads in his direction with their eyes glowing green.

“Leon…Leon…LEON!” shouted Renée. After the third time Leon snapped back to reality, shaking his head in disbelief as he looked up and saw nothing, but the bonfire. The feeling he just felt buried itself deep inside him as if but a dream. He turned around and approached the girls.

“Didn’t you hear me calling you?” asked Renée. Leon just had a faint smile and shrugged his shoulders.

“What was that about?” asked Renée.

“I wish I could tell you, but I swear there were people over there dancing around the fire,” said Leon.

“What. Where?” asked Jazzy looking around.

“Then something freaky happened…I dunno,” he said.

“See what happens when you stare too close to fire. Your attraction to fire and Renée’s attraction to water will be the death of you two…I swear, right gurl?” asked Jazzy.

“Something’s calling me,” she said.

“What?” asked Jazzy. Then Renée notice both Jazzy and Leon was staring at her oddly,

“I mean…what are we standing around here for. Is this a beach or what?” she said, walking more into the sand. Leon and Jazzy took a quick glance at each other, following behind Renée.

They all found a spot close to each other. While the girls laid out the towels, Leon took off his shirt while already wearing his shorts. Leon slapped a glob of suntan lotion and started rubbing it all over his body. Leon was in great shape with abs, muscles, and everything. This seemed odd to some people because he hardly workout, it was as if he was born with the perfect structure. After that he helped Renée up, taking her spot on the towel as she changed.

After a brief conversation, before he knew it Renée dove right into the water.

“Wow, she just left us,” he said jokingly.

“Ya know,” said Jazzy agreeing. “Well, rumor has it—and you didn’t hear it from me, but that you, Jake, and Robbie had an interesting run in?”

“The whole me hurting Robbie thing didn’t cross my mind when I stood him up,” admitted Leon.

“Dude, you have to move on. It’s getting up to a year now,” said Jazzy, sitting down.

“I know I just…can’t. Whoa, is that a rip current?” asked Leon, getting up.

“Renée!” shouted Jazzy.

“HELP SOMEBODY HELP!!” screamed Leon as he and Jazzy ran over to the shoreline, seeing Renée getting tossed back and forth like a rag doll.

All of a sudden a lifeguard dove in, allowing the current to take him by being claim. He dove down deeper into the water and grabbed Renée and pulled her up to the surface. The current suddenly died down and the lifeguard easily maneuvered over back to shore.

“Kevin?” said Jazzy as he dragged Renée’s body out of the water and laid her down. He started to do CPR as he suddenly pressed his lips upon hers, breathing life back into her lungs as she gasp for air, coughing up excess water.

“Is she alright?” asked Leon.

“She’ll be fine,” said Kevin.

“Kevi!” shouted Sasha as she wrapped her arms around him, “that current could have carried you too.”

“…Sasha.”

“…Jazzy.”

"Hello! Drowning victim here. I’m fine, thanks for asking,” said Renée.

“Given that it’s your birthday, you are not having a good day,” he said, looking down at her. Their eyes met as she realized that she was still in his arms from helping her when she was coughing up water.

“Told you I’ll be here Pereira,” said Kevin. Renée smiled and stood, but she got up too fast and fell back down as Leon caught her. Leon stuck out his tongue, not realizing how heavy she was.

“Whoa, baby steps,” said Kevin, getting up to help.

“She’s fine Kevi, c’mon lets go, the others are waiting,” interrupted Sasha.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Kevin asked one more time.

“Yes, I’ll be okay…just need to sit down,” she explained. “Thank you.”

“Alright. Just, you might want to stay away from water for a little bit,” he said with a smile and walked over toward Sasha. She wrapped her arms around his and they headed down the beach.

“Swear that little tramp thinks about no one, but herself. Thinks she’s God’s gift to the world,” said Jazzy, helping Renée onto her towel.

“Hey, what’s that?” asked Leon. Renée looked down seeing that she had a blank brown leatherback book, gripped in her right hand.

Water from Within

Chapter 03: BloodMoon – Water from Within

“Hey, what’s that?” asked Leon. Renée looked down seeing that she had a blank brown leatherback book, gripped in her right hand.

“I don’t know. I saw it at the bottom and…picked it up,” explained Renée, flipping through the book’s pages. It was entirely blank inside and out.

“Shouldn’t it be all…wet and stuff?” asked Leon. Renée notice that unlike her the book was completely dry.

“Ooo, let me see?” asked Jazzy.

"NO!" shouted Renée unexpectedly. Jazzy and Leon looked at her strangely. "I mean. I don't know what I mean, sorry."

“Oh-kay…are we still on for the club then?” asked Jazzy, wrapping a towel around Renée.

“OH! Speaking of that. Over on Brass Park, they are going to have a witches’ festival and I was thinking maybe we can—skip the club and go there?” asked Leon.

“A witches’ festival? Don’t you have to be well…a witch?” asked Jazzy.

“C’mon. We can go clubbing any old day. This is a special day and a special day deserves a special night,” said Leon convincingly.

“Sure, why not,” said Renée with the final say.

All three of them started packing up and headed back to the car. Jazzy took Renée home first and then Leon.

“Whoa. What happened to you?” asked Renée’s older brother, Casey.

“Don’t ask,” she said while closing the front door.

“Fine, I won’t,” he said, rubbing his hands into her hair, ruffling it up like she was kid, “Happy Birthday squirt.”

“Thanks,” she said trying to fix her now damaged hair.

Renée went upstairs to her room and closed the door behind her. Renée‘s ceiling was covered with glow in the dark stars. She had a queen size bed, and her walls were painted with the planets of the solar system. Pluto was on there too.

Renée checked out the book one more time, “weird,” and threw the book face down on her bed. She went into the bathroom and as she was fixing herself up, the book opened up by itself, pages flipping till the very end and closed facing up now. The front cover started developing designs that wasn’t there before.

Around 10:40pm, Renée’s parents allowed her to go to the festival, which she didn’t mention it was a witches’ festival. Renée was wearing a light blue top with blue jeans, white sneakers. She was wearing her brunet hair down, barely touching her shoulders. She went outside and took her father’s silver car and drove to the park. She adjusted her rearview mirror, and then made a left turn on North Street, entering the park’s entrance. She had got there around eleven and found a parking spot. She got out her car and there saw Leon by Jazzy’s car.

“Okay so what’s the plan if they asked us questions?” she asked, approaching them.

“I dunno, Leon?” asked Jazzy. Jazzy was wearing some dark pants with a black top. Even wearing normal clothing, Jazzy still looked hot. Unlike Renée, Jazzy had her black hair tied up in a ponytail.

“Just say we’re new and we want to learn and research more,” she said. Leon was wearing jeans and a black jacket with a white undershirt. His short black hair was messy, like he just woke up from a nap.

They proceeded in, showing some ID because they wouldn’t let just anyone in. The festival was lively, so people was from the town while others were just visiting and only came for this festival.

“Heyyyyy! There’s a cutie over there. Let me holler for a second, I’ll catch up with you guys later,” said Jazzy, walking away.

“Annnndd who’s birthday is it?” asked Renée.

“Ya know,” said Leon agreeing.

“Come one come all! Seeing the amazing uTha!” shouted a man trying to promote his booth.

“Gotta be a scam,” said Leon.

“I dunno…check it out, let me know” said Renée.

“You sure?” he asked.

“Yeah, I wanna check out this shamanist booth anyways. See my past and future,” she said jokingly.

“Okay, but I’ll be just a sec,” he said, cutting in and out the crowd of people.

“NEXT!” shouted the shamanist as the person who was just in pulled back the purple curtain and walked away. Renée developed an eerie feeling that she shouldn’t go in, a feeling that,

“NEXT!” Renée entered through the curtain seeing a chair, a table with a crystal ball and a female shaman seating on the other end of the table.

“Welcome child, please take a seat,” she said. Renée hesitated for a minute and then sat, placing her hands on her lap, nervously.

The Shamanist placed bones and the table and explained what she wanted Renée to do to them.

“Touch the bones and pass on your aura to them.”

“Was she serious?” thought Renée. She touched every single bone and placed them back inside the jar. The Shamanist took the jar and shook it, mixing the bones while keeping Renée’s aura in and casting others out. The Shamanist threw the bones onto the table, hovering her hands over them.

“I see…a great power within you. Sleep it has been, but once awakened there is no turning back. You have an amazing attraction to water; it has a strong hold over you and…you had a friend—.”

“A friend? Who?” asked Renée.

“In another life, someone very close to you. Someone, close to your level of power Renée,” she explained.

“Riiiiight. Thanks but…wait how did you know my name?” she asked.

“The bones never lie child,” she said. Renée became really scared and placed two dollars on the table and ran out,

“Wait child, there’s more!” shouted the Shamanist, but Renée did not want to hear more as she stepped out of the booth.

She tried calming herself down, breathing in the night air. She looked up and noticed something strange with the starry sky. The moon wasn’t grey, but orange…almost red. It took Renée by surprise as a sharp piercing pain stabbed her in her chest, like someone pounded nails in her flesh and are now ripping them back out. She gasped for air, clenching her chest and stumbled back into Jazzy’s arms.

“You okay?” she asked as a cloudy mist swam before Renée’s green eyes. Blurry images entered Renée’s mind as she felt sick and disorientated and pressed hard on the center of her chest, sucking in breath after breath. Back at Renée’s house, a burst of blue light covered the front as an up-right five-pointed star pentacle appeared on the front cover of the not so blank book. Back at the park, Renée deeply inhaled and exhaled as the pain in her chest lessened.

“I’m okay,” she said getting her balance back. Her eyes were back to normal, feeling her strength returning.

“Where’s Leon?” asked Jazzy.

“He went over to the ritual booth,” she answered.

“He’s not over there,” said Jazzy. Renée turned and saw that the booth was gone and everyone that gather around to see it. “Jazzy where’s Leon?”

“How you gone ask me what I asked you,” she said, calling Leon on her cell phone, but no answer. “Maybe he’s walking around.”

“I have a bad feeling about this,” said Renée.

The next morning Leon Falcon tossed and turned, getting tangled up in his white sheets. He started waking up, as if coming out of a deep coma for the first time as the bright autumn sunlight stung the back of his head and neck, “ugh,” he moaned. He lifted up his head off of his pillow and looked around with a dazed and confused expression on his face. It took him five minutes to realize that he was in his room, in his bed…totally naked.

He was suffering the symptoms of a hangover as he swung his feet over the cold floor, putting on his pants. He had never drunk before in his life and past couple of hours was all a blank to him. He stood up slowly, buttoning and zipping up his pants and headed for the bathroom, passing his mirror and then suddenly stopped. He went back to his mirror and turned around; his eyes widen seeing an upside-down star pentagram tattooed on his upper back.

I'm going to have to say that this is one of the weirdest pieces I have ever read. It started out weird and it continued to be weird. With the gay guys and the witchcraft, I'm not sure what to think. It is definitely original...

You also have tons of the grammar and spelling mistakes. I would suggest cleaning up future posts before posting them. Posting with many mistakes like this will make people take you less seriously.

Chapter 04: Kurzik – Into the Fire

“You sure?” he asked.

“Yeah, I wanna check out this shamanist booth anyways. See my past and future,” she said jokingly.

“Okay, but I’ll be just a sec,” said Leon, cutting in and out the crowd of people. Leon approached the booth as the Ritualist started to perform. The Ritualist sprinkled some kind of blue sand onto his little bundle of fire, causing it to burst upward in a blinding display.

Leon moved through the crowd, trying to get a better view as the Ritualist started speaking in tongues. Then he got on his knees and started shaking his fist in the air, as a mist-like substance started to swirl around him. The mist wrapped around the fire and formed into a spirit of some sort of creature as everyone clapped.

Leon was unimpressed, thinking there was some kind of trick behind it, projection or something.

“Thank you…and now I will throw the spirit stick and whoever catches it is invited up on stage.” The Ritualist threw the spirit stick up in the air as people scrambled around, trying to reach it. This one blonde girl jumped up and grabbed it but bumped into someone as she came back down. The stick flew out of her hand and landed into Leon's. Everyone stared at him. Leon felt very uncomfortable.

“You there young man, please come up for the spirits have chosen you,” said the Ritualist.

“No…no thanks,” said Leon, trying to give the stick away, but everyone started clapping, encouraging him to go up on stage.

Leon uneasily went up on the small stage and gave back the spirit stick. The Ritualist just used Leon as an assistant so that he could see a ritual first hand, but still wasn’t convinced. The Ritualist wiggled his fingers. Blue smoke suddenly turned into small horses which then pranced around Leon's head. Leon waved his hand. The smoke disappeared.

“Nice trick,” he said.

“Trick? No trick, actual magick,” said the Ritualist.

“Magic…riiiight,” said Leon. The Ritualist pulled Leon closer, staring really deeply into his light brown eyes.

“What?” asked Leon.

“Could it be? Pass my test and I’ll admit this has all been a complete fake. Fail, and your fate will be forever sealed,” said the Ritualist.

“What? What kind of test?” asked Leon. The Ritualist didn’t answer as he dug his hands into the fire and brought them out slowly,

“First you I’ll attend, then the other shell also mend, be not women, child, nor man, but be reborn once again,” chanted the Ritualist as he opened up his hands and blew into them as dust circled and engulfed Leon.

“This is good and all, but can I just go?” asked Leon, fanning the dust away. The dust soon vanished and Leon's eyes widened. He wasn't on the stage or at the festival anymore, but what appeared to be catacombs. “Noooo way!”

The catacomb was a dark and creepy place...except for the light shining through crevices on the wall. You could just feel and sense death in the air as Leon started walking, stepping over some bones.

“HELLO!” shouted Leon, but only received an echo back. He made a left turn and continued walking down the dark lit hall, passing marked room after room.

“What the hell is going on?” he asked himself while searching for a way out of this grim maze.

He stumbled into a chamber that wasn’t marked like the other rooms. Looking into the room, he saw a chamber filled with sarcophaguses around the entire room. In the middle, by itself, was a strange coffin, different in shape from the rest, for it was made of pure stone. Leon approached it, drawn to it in some strange way. It was as if the coffin or something in it called out to him in a voiceless way. Upon reaching it, he looked down to see an up-right five-pointed star pentacle with a circle around it engraved on the slab. Leon turned to his left, seeing that the coffin had a small glass window at the head. He ran over to the other side and wiped the glass clear of the thick coating of dust. By doing so, he let his hand rest on the pentacle. He could not resist himself and leaned in forward, seeing a figure with brown and blond hair inside.

He took a closer look. Suddenly, the figure's eyes and mouth opened. Light came out of all orifices of the head as if it was an explosion. It hammered Leon with fuzzy visions of a Ritualist dancing around a huge fire.

“Tsrif uoy ll’I dnetta.” From the eyes, ears and mouth and nostrils…even through the pores, came this strange light from the figure. “Neht eht rehto llehs osla dnem.” Leon cut his hand while stumbling back into stone columns and as his bloody hand hit the same exact symbol on the column, a colossal surge of bright energy flowed through his body, lighting him up like a searchlight, only brighter. “Eb ton nemow, dlihc, ron nam.”

Just as the light seemed to demolish him, it enveloped him, crept into him…and exploded. Just like what happened with the one in the coffin. Both silent explosions lit up the entire catacomb, making it seem as if the sun itself has fallen down to make the shadows disappear “Tub eb nrober ecno niaga.”

Leon brought down his shoulder looking at himself in his mirror, trying to get a better view of the tattoo on his back. The only thing he remembered was…a person in a coffin and a flash of light.

“Leon…are you dressed yet?!” shouted Mrs. Falcon.

“In a minute!” he yelled back, walking into the bathroom.

At Lavin High School, Leon was running a bit late for he had to stop at his locker. He rushed down the hall, fumbling with the many books in his hands when all of a sudden he collided into someone. Leon gasped as both their books scattered on the floor.

“I am sooo sorry,” said Leon, squatting down, picking up each book one by one.

“Naw, it’s alright,” said the guy.

“I’m just in a rush and…” At the same time they both touched the last book. Leon looked up seeing a guy with brown and blond hair, an earring in his right ear, and the most beautiful blue eyes he had ever seen. Leon was drawn to him in some strange way. It was as if this guy was calling out to him in a voiceless way. The guy took the book as they both stood up,

“Here, I think this is yours,” he said, handing Leon the text book.

“Thanks,” said Leon. They separated as Leon made his way toward his locker seeing Jazzy and Renée standing next to it.

“Dude, like what the hell?” stressed Renée.

“Where the hell were you last night?” asked Jazzy.

“Don’t ask,” said Leon, turning his combination number.

“Oh hell no, I’m askin’,” said Jazzy.

“One minute I was at the festival participating with the Ritualist and next I know I woke up with this,” said Leon, tugging down is shirt, showing the girls the up-right five-pointed star pentacle tattooed on his upper back.

“Whoa,” said Renée shockingly.

“Whoa is right. When you get this?” asked Jazzy, tracing it with her finger.

“No, whoa as in this,” said Renée, lifting up her shirt halfway, revealing an upside-down star pentagram tattooed close to her bellybutton, but slightly higher. “I woke up with this.”

“Me too,” said Leon.

“Oh-kay? Did you guys get matching tattoos and didn’t tell me?” asked Jazzy.

“No!” they both said.

“So what does it mean?” asked Renée.

“I don’t know, but Jazz who’s that?” asked Leon, pointing to the guy who he bumped into.

“You don’t remember?” she said.

“Remember what?” asked Renée.

“Adin…Adid Kassidy. He’s only like the most hottest coolest guy in school. Well, besides Kevin and a couple of others. You guys don’t remember him?” she explained.

“Jazz no. And I been here longer than the both of you,” said Renée.

“Yeah and trust me, we would’ve remembered,” said Leon. Then Leon thought about last night and a coffin with a person in it. Could…could the person that was in the coffin be this guy…Adin?
