Interplanitary Wars

NOTE TO EVERYONE! THIS IS JUST A BEGINNING PART OF A DRAFT I MADE FOR A STORY!!

“Bah! If we don’t move they’re going to get us.” Karlon stated in a worried tone.
Karlon was a warrior from the planet Earth, who was trained at a secret facility in his homeland of Scotland. He looked somewhat like a barbarian, with his large muscular arms and legs. Many feared this man when he was fighting, but those who had known him since he was younger knew that he was soft at heart. He was feared while on the battlefield because he was like one of the Robitarian fighters, bloodthirsty and ruthless, with no regard or pity for the enemy soldiers.
“I know,” Fahlor said “but if we stay here we can hold our ground. We have a good chance to hold them off from here. We have a good vantage point.”
Fahlor was a native from the planet Targo. He was a well built, strong Targonian who had volunteered for this war, and had been training for years, waiting for this day to come. He was not well known yet, but hoped that one day he could be as famous as his father had once been. His father was one of the best warriors the Targonian armies had ever seen. He was able to sneak into any construction factory of the Robitarian armies and use his amazing explosive skills to destroy the factory. He had taken out almost three quarters of the war factories on the Robitarian home-world, Lator 3. The planet was a barren wasteland and was now one of many planets in all of the sixteen quadrants of space without any natural resources left.
“Not without reinforcements we don’t!” Karlon exclaimed. “We may have a good vantage point, but many of our soldiers are out of ammunition or are injured. Only the very best remain. Some can still fight, but it could cause them so much strain that their heart would overwork itself and then just stop beating!”
“Fine,” Fahlor sighed. “Fall back warriors! Fall back!” He shouted.
The Targonian warriors began to retreat, and with good timing. Within five minutes of their retreat the Robitarian fighters started to pour over the hill tops and out of nearby tunnels.
“What are we going to do now Karlon?” Fahlor yelled across the barren battlefield. “Our warriors have begun to retreat, but now we have our backs turned on them and are without protection.”
“I have a plan. I’ll gather half of our best warriors and try to hold them off while you and the other men retreat. The other half can stay with you and protect you incase we fail.” Karlon said.
“Ok. That might work, but what if you do fail. Your soul will never be laid to rest and you will wander this planet for the rest of eternity.” Fahlor reminded him.
“You forget. I am not of your race. I am human from the planet Earth. If I die I will be at peace for I will know that I died for a worthy cause.”
“May the Lord be with you, Karlon.” Fahlor said.
“Also may He be with you, Fahlor”
With those last words Karlon ran off to gather a protection force to hold back the enemy. Fahlor wondered if he was ever going to see the valiant warrior ever again. Fighting back his tears he called to the rest of the men and ordered them to keep moving, or risk the pain of death. Nobody else knew what Karlon was doing or where he was going, but they listened to their leader and kept moving.

As Karlon and his squad of soldiers crept back to hold off the Robitarians, they could hear war cries combined with the loud metallic scraping of the robotic legs.
“Warrior 407, run forward and climb into that nearby tree with all haste. Come back and give me a report about the enemy forces. I want details on the approximate number of fighters and what the best tactical point would be to destroy the greatest number of enemy troops. Warriors 408, 409, 410, and 411 come with me.” Karlon ordered.
“Yes sir.” Warrior 407 replied.
Warrior 407 was one of the few remaining soldiers that had been serving the Targonian army for more than ten years. He was also the fastest of all the soldiers and made a good scout. He had increased eyesight due to an operation he had had as a child. He had a great amount of intuition and was able to keep calm, even in the direst of circumstances.
The rest of the squad and Karlon moved to a close patch of bushes and awaited 407’s return. He made it back to the recon point within minutes.
“I have the report you asked for sir.” 407 stated
“Good, we need all the information we can get if we are to keep them from reaching the rest of our troop.”
“Approximately one hundred fighters sir, my eyesight could also make out roughly four ammo carts and possibly one filled with explosives in the middle of the ranks. The explosives cart is well disguised, but the slight bulge from the boxes gives it away.”
“It’s all too easy,” Karlon said laughing. “It’s just too easy.”
Karlon coughed and cleared his throat.
“OK men, heres the plan, bring out some of the rifles with the high powered scopes. Get up in the trees and load a few of the empty shot casings with a little gun powder. There are empty shot casings and some extra powder in the crate of supplies I grabbed before we left the troop. Place a small fuse in the end of the bullet and load it into your rifles. The spark that is created when the bullet is fired should be enough to light the fuse and make the bullet explode soon-after. If done correctly, it will create a chain reaction that will light fuses in the explosive cart and make the bombs and other explosive items explode. The ending explosion should take out fifty or more of the troops and then we should be able to pick off the remaining troops.” Karlon explained.
The warriors did as they were told and filled the casings, and then loaded their guns with the explosive bullets. Every one of them, including Karlon, slung their weapons over their shoulders and climbed the nearby trees. Once in the trees they had a perfect view of the enemy force.
“It looks like more than one hundred soldiers to me.” Warrior 409 said.
“Don’t worry,” Warrior 407 said in a calm tone. “There are only about one hundred of them, and if the captain’s plan works, then we should only have about twenty or thirty left to take out.”
“Alright, whatever you say.” Warrior 409 said, sounding barely re-assured.
The warriors loaded their guns, took aim, and fired. Within moments there was a giant explosion and large amounts of smoke everywhere. Once the smoke had cleared the warriors were glad to see that the plan had worked. In the area where the explosives had gone off there was a large crater, filled with robotic arms, legs, and fluids of many different types. About twelve robots remained and they were easily taken care of. The warriors had known the circumstances of the devastation the cart would cause when it exploded; also they knew that the land would never be able to be used as farming land once the war was over, but regardless, it was a very good feeling to know that they were able to protect their troop farther ahead.
