My brief synopsis
This is my brief synopsis that I have to write for my query letters. I was wondering if it even sounded interesting or if anything could be changed. I would love the help!
When Chloe, a seemingly typical 22 year old, lands herself in a psychiatric hospital after assaulting a police officer, she finds comfort in keeping a journal in the hopes that it will unlock the secrets trapped inside and free her of her demons; leading her to a reunion with her true self once again.
In A Mind Divided we meet Chloe Rogers after she has been admitted into a psychiatric hospital, Clarence Institute, having been deemed, “a danger to society and herself.” Slowly, Chloe's story starts to unfold as she attends group therapy sessions, meets with her doctor, and most importantly writes in her journal. Through her journal she tells of physical abuse, love, death, and molestation that occurred in her childhood. Chloe is trying to cope with the memories and the pain but is still unwilling to admit there is something wrong. She becomes desperate when her group members depart one by one, and her thoughts and actions become more irrational. Out of desperation she escapes from the hospital and heads to her home town to confront who she believes is the real problem. The confrontation goes sour and in a moment of anguish, Chloe commits an irrevocable act of retribution.
