Intro: A dictator toppled and a fierce civil war ignited. Behind it all, an unknown figure controlling everything. And caught in the middle, a human who just appeared out of nowhere.

Chap 1 excerpt:

Huh… What happened! It’s so bright, I can’t see… What’s with all that smoke? Wait, what the… I … I can’t breathe… Oh my God, I can’t breathe!… Oh shit, oh shit… What’s that? Are those… people? Oh my God, there’s no air! … No, there’s something in the air… My throat, my lungs are burning… Where am I?! … I don’t want to die! … There are a lot of people close. I can see them through the smoke…
“HELP ME!”
I don’t want to die! … Yes, here! Right here! I’m the guy waving frantically with… no clothes? … How did that …? … What are they holding? What are those flashes? … Whoa! They’re shooting! … No place to hide… My lungs! … Shit! Stay down… The blasts are all around … Are they shooting at me? No, at each other. Back and forth … Where am I?! … No, no. I’m going to die … No, God, please… My throat! … Got to move. There’s got to be something, someone here that can help me… What are those things on the ground? Are those dead bodies? … What the hell is going on? … It’s so hot. Can’t focus… Are those guys wearing gas tanks? Respirators? … Where does it latch on? Come on, come off! … Watch it! That shot was close… Need air! But what’s in the tanks? … Screw it. If this doesn’t help, I’m dead anyway…

Jerasavo City, Capital of Narigan Prime, within the Narigan-Tau system
It was not supposed to be this way. And if he were still alive, he’d do anything to take it back. But as he lined up to take that fatal shot at Autocrator Danifar, the only thought going through his head was that he was finally going to put an end to his people’s suffering. Cut off the head of the snake and the body. And so the tyrant had to go. But little did he know that this would set off a series of events that would plunge his planet into brutal civil war, dragging neighboring worlds into the chaos. And all along, the people that had given him the opportunity to change the world, to realize his dream, which he thought of as friends and supporters, couldn’t have been more pleased. Not because they too wished to liberate oppressed people, but because they longed for the madness that would ensue. It would be there, in the midst of confusion, that they would reveal themselves. In the power vacuum that would be created, they would sweep in and take control. And their little pawn, in all his righteous glory, would help usher all that in.
